What you can expect

  • Discover the wonders of Venice's 2 fascinating islands, Murano and Burano, during a fascinating private, guided tour. Accompanied by an expert, English-speaking guide, learn the historic secrets of the world-famous crafts of Venetian glassblowing and lacemaking.

Begin this half-day tour in central Venice by embarking on a short boat ride to Murano Island, renowned for its world-class glass blowers. The art of making mirrors was discovered here by craftsmen who were forbidden from leaving Murano, for fear they would divulge the jealously guarded secrets of the practice. Visit a glassblower's workshop and hear this once-secretive process explained in English.

Next, browse a huge collection of glass art and enjoy discounts, or wander the island at your own pace. Enjoy another short boat ride to Burano Island and admire its vibrant, colourful houses, packed tightly along bustling streets and canals.

Wander through Burano's charming streets and see where lacemakers stitch their works of art using techniques unchanged for centuries. Listen as the craft that made Burano world-famous is explained before browsing beautiful lace samples or wandering the island sampling local culinary delights. End your experience with transport by boat back to Venice.
