Our 2-hour tour will take us through the Old Town of Kaunas, Lithuania’s second-largest city and former capital. See why this picturesque city has been called an open-air museum of historic architecture.
The Old Town of Kaunas was built mostly between the 14th and 16th centuries, and as a result there are many impressive architectural monuments, including gothic and baroque churches. The town centre is also home to more modern and unique buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries.
On the tour through the Old Town you will see the ruins of Kaunas Castle, the city’s oldest building which today hosts an art gallery. Then, visit the Kaunas Cathedral, the largest gothic church in Lithuania.
From there, we will head to the historic Town Hall of Kaunas, affectionately known by locals as “the White Swan”, followed by much more of the city’s main highlights and history.
Enjoy a two-hour walk in a beautiful setting, all with a local guide to explain the great stories of Kaunas and answer any of your questions.
