Atomic Bomb Dome

The Atomic Bomb Dome is a symbol of peace for the city of Hiroshima. Used originally as a prefectural hall, the dome was blown up during the blast, killing everyone inside. However the structure of the dome remained and has been used as a symbol of the people’s wish for peace ever since, and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996. Your guide will offer you history and explanations, while allowing you to reflect on the tragedy that occurred.
Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park

The shrine consists of a prayer hall, a main hall and a noh theatre stage, which are connected by boardwalks and supported by pillars above the sea.
