What you can expect

  • From seaside promenades to fishing villages, elevated viewpoints to charming gardens, Funchal's sights are at your fingertips. Over the course of 2 days, discover the city and get around with ease with convenient access to 3 hop-on hop-off bus routes, jumping off to get a closer look at attractions like the clifftop Skywalk of Cabo Girão.

Snag a seat on one of the yellow buses in town to explore Funchal's vibrant city centre, hitting up major points of interest like the breathtaking black-and-white plaza of Town Hall Square and the 15th-century Cathedral. Hop off the bus to take in the view from Pico dos Barcelos, stroll the cobbled lanes and flower-filled gardens, and sip a glass of the island's famous wine at the Madeira Wine Museum.

Switch routes for a ride to the Farmers' market, and pay a visit to the fishing village of Câmara de Lobos, whose coastal charms have lured notable figures like Winston Churchill to its quaint streets. Listen to engaging commentary on the bus as you ride between stops, and don't miss the chance to take the shuttle up to the lookout point at Cabo Girão, where you can step out on a glass-bottomed Skywalk on the edge of some of Europe's tallest cliffs.
