What you can expect

Explore Banff National Park on a guided full‑day tour and discover some of the park’s most spectacular viewpoints and scenic vistas. Meet in central Banff and set off with an expert local guide to visit both popular highlights and lesser‑known natural landmarks.

Itinerary highlights:

(Johnston Canyon and Morant's Curve will be replaced by Moraine Lake from June 1st to Oct. 12)
Johnston Canyon (1.5 hours): Begin with a guided walk along boardwalks and catwalks through Johnston Canyon to the meadow above. Admire the Ink Pots — six blue‑green, spring‑fed pools — while your guide shares local natural and cultural history. Tip: sturdy shoes and a light jacket recommended; some stair climbs required.

Morant’s Curve (15 min): Stop for an iconic riverside photo opportunity of the Bow River and the CPR tracks curving against a mountain backdrop.

(Moraine Lake only open from June to Oct)
Moraine Lake’s vivid blue waters sit like a jewel in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, surrounded by towering mountains. Massive boulders line the shore like miniature peaks, and winding trails lead through rocky outcrops to alpine meadows and sparkling ponds. It’s a striking, otherworldly landscape shaped by nature’s power.

Lake Louise (45 min): Discover the turquoise waters framed by Victoria Glacier. Time for lakeside photos, a short shoreline walk, and commentary on glacial origins.

Two Jack Lake (15 min): A tranquil shoreline stop ideal for reflective photos and a brief stroll. T
Lake Minnewanka (20 min): Panoramic vistas of Banff’s largest glacial lake; short walks and wildlife-spotting opportunities.

Cascades of Time Gardens (15 min): Explore cascading ponds, flagged walks, rustic bridges, and interpretive displays behind the historic park administration building. Tip: gentle pathways—good for all ages.

Sulphur Mountain Gondola (optional, 90 min): Optional ride for sweeping views across six mountain ranges, the Bow Valley, and Banff from the summit; boardwalks and short summit trails available. Tip: dress warmly; summit is breezy.

Bow Falls (15 min): View the Bow River’s short turbulent drop and enjoy quick photo stops. Tip: short walk from parking/viewpoint.

Surprise Corner (15 min): Classic viewpoint revealing Banff townsite with Cascade Mountain—excellent for photos. Tip: quick stop but high impact for photos.

Hoodoos (25 min): See distinctive eroded rock pillars and learn how differential erosion shaped these formations. Tip: great foreground for landscape shots.

Throughout the day your guide will point out native wildlife, share natural and cultural insights, and allow time for photos and short walks. The tour finishes with drop‑off in central Banff.

Practical notes:

Guardians must provide car seats/boosters for infants/young children; this tour does not supply them.
