Overview

Tuscany…what else?
Immerse yourself in the beauty of the Tuscan countryside and leave the confusion of the city. Spend half a day in the most famous wine region in the world (Chianti), tasting 5 of the best tuscan wines and visit the medieval village of San Gimignano, known worldwide for its tall towers.
Be guided through the verdant landscape of the “Sweet Hills of Chianti” on a private tour, tasting Chianti Classico wine and other famous Tuscan wines, such as “Super Tuscan” and “Vernaccia”, at a family-run winery. Learn basic winemaking techniques and discover the legend of the “Black Cockerel” (symbol of Chianti).
Afterwards we will visit the famous village of San Gimignano, a medieval open-air museum, where the population still lives in the beautiful towers. You will be fascinated by the medieval streets with traditional shops and fine craftsmanship.

Your first stop is a renowned historic winery known for producing three distinctive wine varieties: Chianti Classico, Super Tuscan, and Vernaccia. Chianti Classico, made primarily from Sangiovese grapes, is a vibrant red wine with a bold, earthy character. Super Tuscan wines, meanwhile, are crafted outside traditional DOC regulations, allowing winemakers to experiment with a blend of international and local grape varieties like Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Sangiovese. Vernaccia di San Gimignano is a refreshing white wine from Tuscany’s medieval hilltop town, San Gimignano. It offers crisp flavours of green apple, citrus, and almonds, with a mineral undertone. After a brief tour of the cellars and an introduction to the winery’s history and techniques, you’ll enjoy a tasting of these exceptional wines, each offering a unique taste of Tuscany’s diverse winemaking tradition.
San Gimignano
  • 1h
After the tasting, we’ll head to San Gimignano for a self-guided visit of this famous medieval village. You’ll have free time to explore the town, and the visit—including its magnificent towers—will take approximately an hour. San Gimignano is a small, walled medieval hill town not far from Siena, known as the “Town of Fine Towers.” In the Middle Ages, over 70 towers stood here, and today, it’s like an open-air museum, where walking through the streets feels like stepping back in time. The town is also famous for its saffron, “Golden Ham,” and Vernaccia di San Gimignano, a white wine made from the ancient Vernaccia grape that grows on the region’s sandstone hillsides. Be sure to stop in the main square to try “the best gelato in the world” at Gelateria Dondoli, and as you wander the charming streets, you’ll be able to admire the remarkable work of skilled local artisans. After the visit, we’ll return to Florence.
