Slovakia, especially the Bratislava region and southern Slovakia, has a rich winemaking history dating back to Roman times. The vineyards are located on the hillsides of the Small Carpathian Mountains surrounding Bratislava. The Small Carpathian Wine Road begins in Bratislava’s Rača district and ends in Slovakia’s ‘Little Rome,’ a city of Trnava located 50 km from the capital. A visit to Bratislava would not be complete without sampling its delicious cuisine and experiencing the unique flavours of its local wines, which remain a ‘hidden gem’ of Slovakia. During our wine tasting, you’ll have the opportunity to savour and distinguish between four traditional wines from a small local producer in the nearby village of Limbach, just outside Bratislava.
