Your adventure begins as our guide choices you up from your hotel in Hanoi's Old Quarter or at Vietnam Creative Travel office between 7:30–8:00 AM. Morning Drive to Lang Son: Travel approximately three hours towards the Chinese border, arriving at Chi Lang Pass, a historic 20km-long gorge surrounded by mountains. Explore Quy Mon Quan Gate, dubbed "The Gate of Monsters," a site of significant Vietnamese victories against invaders dating back to 981 AD. Lunch & Afternoon Exploration: Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Dong Dang. Visit Mother’s Temple and the Dong Khe historical site, where the first battle of the Indochina Wars occurred in 1950. Evening: Settle in at a traditional Nung family homestay, savour a home-cooked meal, and enjoy a peaceful night in Quang Uyen. Highlights: Chi Lang Pass, Quy Mon Quan Gate, Dong Khe site, and a 3-5km walk.
Day 2: Cao Bang – Ban Gioc Waterfall – Ba Be National Park

Morning Activities: Visit the Nung village of Phuoc Sen, renowned for its blacksmithing heritage and stunning rice paddies. Explore the awe-inspiring Ban Gioc Waterfall, which spans 300 metres and is shared between Vietnam and China—a perfect spot for photography. Afternoon Activities: Visit Nguom Ngao Cave, a 2,144-meter-long natural wonder adorned with intricate stalactites and stalagmites. Travel through scenic landscapes to Ba Be Lake, descending the thrilling “snake pass.” Evening: Stay overnight in a Tay family homestay by the lake, enjoying a delicious home-cooked dinner in a traditional stilt house. Visit An Ma Temple, a sacred Tay site dedicated to a snake god and a historical military general. Optional Activities: Relax on the boat and enjoy the scenery.
