What you can expect

  • Explore the Wonders Around Toulouse on a Full-Day Shared Tour

Embark on a captivating journey through the stunning Pays de Cocagne, one of southern France’s most picturesque regions. This full-day shared tour takes you from Toulouse to Albi, Cordes-sur-Ciel, and Gaillac, blending history, culture, and wine for an unforgettable experience.

Morning: Discover Albi and Vieil Alby

Meet Your Guide Start your day with a convenient pickup in central Toulouse. Meet your expert English-speaking driver-guide, who will outline the itinerary before setting off in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle.

Explore Albi's Imposing Cathedral Your first stop is Albi, home to the awe-inspiring Sainte-Cécile Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the world’s largest brick building. Built as a fortress during the 13th century, it served as a symbol of the Catholic Church’s power during the fight against the Cathars. Inside, marvel at its exquisite Renaissance frescoes and France’s largest Renaissance painting ensemble.

Stroll Through Vieil Alby (Old Albi) Next, wander the charming streets of Albi’s historic quarter. Admire the Old Bridge and visit the Saint-Salvi district with its serene cloister. Learn about the region’s prosperous past as a hub of the woad trade and spot Renaissance architecture, including private mansions like the Hôtel de Reynes.

Free time for personal discovery and lunch (at own expense)

Optional Visit: Toulouse-Lautrec Museum Use your free time to explore the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum, located in the historic Bishop’s Palace (entrance fee not included). This museum houses the largest collection of works by the famed artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec.

Afternoon: Cordes-sur-Ciel and Gaillac Wine Tasting

Visit Cordes-sur-Ciel Continue to Cordes-sur-Ciel, a breathtaking medieval hilltop village. Stroll its cobbled streets, admire Gothic façades adorned with ogive windows, and explore the covered market with its ancient well. During your free time, browse artisan workshops and art galleries, which showcase the village’s creative spirit.

Wine Tasting in Gaillac Conclude your day in the historic Gaillac wine region, known for its winemaking heritage dating back to the 2nd century B.C. Visit a carefully selected winery to sample a variety of Gaillac wines, including reds, rosés, sweet whites, sparkling wines, and the famous lightly fizzy “Perlé.” Learn abo
