Český Krumlov is one of the most beautiful medieval towns in Central Europe and has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992. The town lies in a dramatic bend of the Vltava River and is dominated by its magnificent castle complex, the second-largest in the Czech Republic. Walk back down into the Old Town and explore the charming streets and squares. Visit Svornosti Square, the main square, and admire the surrounding Renaissance and Baroque houses. Nearby you will also find the Church of St. Vitus, the town’s main Gothic church. This part of the town perfectly shows why Český Krumlov is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You may stop here for a short coffee or refreshment. Walk towards Krumlov Tower, which offers another beautiful view of the castle and the historic centre. If you prefer, you can relax in a nearby café and enjoy the scenery instead.
