Do not let waste your money. They will never tell you that they have sold garden for parties and that they are loud and go on until 11 PM. Gym is very dirty. Mosquitoes everywhere. Not even orth the price. Shame that ITC is associated with it

To be honest, I’m still surprised how this is classed as 5 star property. Probably before 10 or 15 years and definitely the rooms and property doesn’t give that 5 star look. AC wasn’t working in Reception, AC wasn’t fully functional in room, no ventilation, no South Indian food, majority of Hindi speaking staff. Pool has no equipments or any kids toys to play with, delayed room service, delayed check out procedures, food is not worth the money we paid for. It was totally a disappointing stay out there. Nothing to like there, sorry

Not worth the rates they are charging
The service and stay is not worth the rates they are charging. The resort called 1 day before asking to delay the check-in to after 4 pm since there was a marriage function that was getting extended. This was not expected as we had informed to check-in by 2 pm since were were driving down. It took more than three calls/follow-ups to get extra bed setup.

Amazing property. Well kept rooms and an efficient team responding to your needs. Located in a quiet peaceful neighborhood with a long stretch of beach available for long barefoot walks. Ideal getaway from city life.

My family and I loved the service and hospitality. The food was above average given that the head chef was away when we visited (non-peak season). We received a complimentary upgrade (only after we were first offered the chance to pay for our upgrade and subsequently we received it free anyway). There were way too many flies even in the indoor restaurants. Overall, we'd still give this visit a 6/10. We had a great time, but probably not worth the price tag and up to what we'd expect of an ITC member hotel. The staff however were exceptional and ofcourse deserve special mention.

Beautiful property with limited services
The property is great and well kept, but it is unfortunate that they do not have all services available that are written/promised. We stayed for 2 days and none of the Salon services were available during out entire stay. Additionally, the restaurant has very limited menu options during different hours of the day and not everything on the menu is actually available. We couldn't tell if it was just off season or the staff didn't feel like working, but that made our stay not as smooth. Also the view to the beach is ruined by this large unnecessary fence and mesh rope that goes avvross the view horizon. I've never seen this ugly eyesaur at any beachfront property. The carpet in the hallways looked like it was from the 50s, with stains on it.

An excellent choice after a long flight to Chennai and a good base to explore Malabalipurnam. Very well maintained gardens, lovely little infinity pool and lots of very willing and friendly staff. The breakfast buffet had and lots of western and Indian choices (50/50) plus eggs and dosas to order. We also had massage and facial treatments in the spa, which were pricey (3,500 rupees each) but very good. Recommended for an indulgent start to a 3 week Indian adventure!

Stay at ITC Mahabalipuram
An amazing experience. Excellent property, prime location, excellent service. The pool was a bit crowded but can’t blame the management for that. The restaurant staff and hospitality went out of their way to assist us. The only area of improvement I can suggest is Room Service as twice the coffee we ordered was sent cold and once while ordering the same the staff at the other end cut the call as I was taking time to lust out my order. Overall an excellent hotel and kudos to the staff.

Great Location, Nice Beach.
Nice hotel with great access to the beach.Food was excellent at the restaurant and yes, one can dine under the stars! The breakfast buffet spread was marvelous, and the staff service too was fantastic. Great location. Just few minutes drive gets you to Seashore Temple, the Unesco heritage monument and the other attractions like Varaha Caves, Krishna's Butterball etc.

Hotel on the beach
My wife and I chose to stay at Hotel Kences for 3 nights in February as it is an ITC managed hotel. We expected it to be of the same standard of an ITC property but it definitely wasn't luxurious at all. The entrance foyer was grand enough with it's 2 storey high walls clad in granite. Check in was efficient and quick. We had read a lot of bad reviews about the service in the restaurant but didn't experience that at all. Even though we only ordered a la carte we got our food within 30 minutes which was fine. Communication with the staff is a bit of a problem with most of them not being fluent in English. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was ok. The gardens were lush and well maintained. There were ducks, turkeys, hens, chicken guinea fowl roaming about and a couple of rabbits in a cage. The hotel has a gym and a play area for kids. The approach to the beach side villas was terrible. The cottages are built close to the compound wall and the front of the cottage reminded me of a cheap PWD construction. However, the inside was pleasant enough with granite floors and modern fixtures. The cottage is quite small compared to other hotels like Fisherman's cove and Radisson. The best part of the cottage was that it has a fairly large outdoor seating area and the sea is a few steps away (No 5007).The basin is outside the bathroom which was a totally putting off. Housekeeping needed to be reminded everyday to clean the rooms. Towels were stained.

Good location!
Was surprised to learn that though the welcome key card mentioned the Swirl bar, the hotel does not have a liquor license!! Only way to get a drink at the place is to smuggle booze to your room! Unfortunate. The chefs are good and food is great!

we enjoyed our stay...though some lacunae like swimming pool needed a bit cleaning and indoor games not working
