Worst accommodation I have never met in my life
1. Lots of mosquito are dead on the wall with blood disgusting! 2. Beds are not beds. Like stones not comfortable 3. Bathroom, washing basin is terrible. Dirty water drop straight to floor also yakky smell is coming up. 4. If fire is up, no exit. Everybody will be dead. Window is blocked by steel bar and just one access to downstairs. So dangerous. 5. Environment beside building is no good as well. Messy spoooky

The drain was very strange - everything from the sink drained in the opposite direction across the floor, so you basically had to step in it to get around the bathroom. The pillows had stains all over it, which was a bit unpleasant. Location was very convenient as it is close to the war memorial as well as the subway. Check in and out was a breeze.

Lean and Comfortable Great staff
I have lived in Korea for two years and usually when in the Itaewan area I stay here. But, if you want good wifi or TV with good English channels and a good shower, you might want to look elsewhere. Its all personal preference. One thing that does stand out here is the staff. ALWAYS friendly and helpful. There is a girl there, I think her name was Sandra, who went way out of her way to help me locate a place I wanted to see. Not too many would have done that. Another girl there, from Taiwan, who also speaks great English along with Sandra, is very friendly and helpful. So, it really is what you what at the time. I do stay elsewhere when I plan on relaxing and using the wifi a lot. Its very clean and quiet and I'm sure you will like it there even with the pitfalls.

very nice staff and good location
It was such a very nice vacation spent in this hostel. The following staff, johnny, hanna and angela were very friendly and accommodating. The place is equipped with microwave, refrigerator, stove, rice cooker - simply anything you can see in the kitchen, they have it and you can use it. The room is very clean. The place is very convenient and close to subway. It was AWESOME...We will come back to this place and I will recommend it to my fellow airline employees.

Great little budget spot
Stephanie and Mike were great. The place is a little older but fairly clean. There is a bit of mold here and there. But all in all it was very suitable. The single room was perfectly proportioned and had everything that I needed, though I think some hooks in the entrance of the room and a little stool would be nice additions. The 10 minute walk to Itaewon was refreshing and there is a direct bus if you are feeling a little lazy. Close to the subway with easy access to everywhere.

Great stay!!
Stayed at YaKorea over the holiday last week. It was a fantastic experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Any information you need they are more than willing to help. The area is also great with many restaurants/things to do. Will definitely come here again when I make a trip to Seoul. I recommend it to anyone who wants to stay kana great part of Seoul and feels like exploring their area.

You"ll Stay Here Again
The hotel is in the area of Itaewon where there is a lot of western shopping and western food along with the usual Korean. Safe area and good night life if that's what you enjoy. The hotel is in a great location for the subway. It's literally a two minute walk. The hotel staff speaks great English and are very helpful.I have been in Korea over a year and have stayed at different places along the way. I always come back to this hotel due to the subway location,a comfortable place to stay, and a great staff.

Great location near subway
My overall experience was good. I was a bit uneasy arriving to the check in counter as the facility is located behind other buildings, in an alleyway. While it’s ok during the day, it’s a bit unnerving at night. Scott at the check in counter was super friendly, spoke phenomenal English and even helped me order some food. The room was decent. The only thing I was disappointed with were the sheets on my bed. They were soiled. The shower was great! In the end, you get what you pay for.

Surprisingly bad, given other reviews
I always spend a lot of time combing through reviews before booking anything, so I was honestly quite surprised at the condition of this hostel. From what I can understand there's been a change in ownership recently and they're in the middle of renovations. Our bathroom was half painted and had very strong fumes. Sink was dirty. Toilet had paint poured in it at some point. Toilet didn't flush properly. Staff was disorganised but provided a pleasant breakfast. I would have preferred a "cook it yourself" breakfast and had staff spend time tidying up common area.

No heating even in sub-zero temperatures...
The location is excellent, near Samgakji subway station, the room was of a decent size for that budget-range in South Korea, bathroom small but functional, wi-fi and TV functioning. We were informed that they no longer provided breakfast, regardless of my reservation form stating that it was included, and two days later started offering breakfast at 4000KRW per person. They told my wife a fable about the name having changed to YaKorea but very recently, though I booked it months in advance and remember clearly having seen that hostel when I booked at another hotel at the end of last year. Worst of all, even on the coldest nights, they just told me that they couldn't provide any heating, with no apologies. In similar temperatures, I was much warmer in a one-star Nepali hotel... The room is only cleaned on demand, and that doesn't mean that they'll think of refurbishing the announced free toiletries, or even toilet paper... The attitude of the staff is unprofessional, and they are ignorant of even such major touristic attractions as the Korean Folk Village. Though the area is quiet, they did have a few parties late at night, and once they even did the laundry at midnight. This was my third time in South Korea, I can't wait to go back there next June, but I'll definitely be staying elsewhere.

2 mins from Samgakji station exit 13. Front desk made check-in easy (very friendly and spoke English well). Good if you want a private bathroom. Not good if you have lots of luggage because it's on the 3rd floor (Korean), no elevator and the room has barely any space left after the 2 beds and mini fridge. Itaewon is 2 stops away and is technically walk-able if the weather is nice. I recommend for crashing after partying in Itaewon.

Ideal for exploring Seoul.
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel, although it is worth noting that I spent almost no time at the hotel. I came to Seoul for 4 days, and spent almost all of my time out with friends and exploring the city, so I basically just showered and slept in the room. If your stay in Seoul will be along the lines described above, this hotel is perfect. The room is relatively small, but has a comfortable bed, nice TV and perfectly adequate bathroom. One complaint about the shower is that it takes a few minutes to get the hot water going, but that is to be expected in an older hotel. Lastly, the area in which the hotel is located is not the best, and some guests might find it uncomfortable at night. But it really is no problem since Korea has a very low crime rate. On the other hand, the hotel is very close to the Samgakji subway station, which is very convenient if you need to get around the city. Overall, a very good (and very inexpensive) place to put one's head down at night, either solo, with friends, or even as a couple. Not recommended for family vacations.

Well worth it if you're looking for an inexpensive but nice place to stay. The place is a two minute walk from the Samgakji subway station. The staff all speak English very well, so no misunderstandings. They will go out of their way to help you in whatever you need. A short stroll to the War Memorial. If you want to go to Itaewon, it's only two stops. If you walk it, about 15 minutes. It's a nice walk. Down hill on the way home late at night which helps. All in all a great place to stay. I will go back again.

Perfect Hostel. This is where you should stay.
I'm an English teacher here in SK, so I've been to a lot of hostels in Seoul (I live about two hours away.) My parents came to visit for a week and we all wanted to be in Seoul, so we looked this hostel up. Initially we got it because the rates are extremely reasonable, especially for how centrally it's located. I have to say without a doubt that this is the BEST hostel I've stayed at. The manager was so, so nice, and he made us feel immediately welcome. The rest of the staff was excellent as well, inviting us to hang out with them and drink coffee. The rooms were small by western standards but there's plenty of room to move around; furthermore, the best part about a small room is that the A/C turns it into an ICEBOX when you turn it on. We stayed here during the hottest days in July so we were so happy. Overall, this is the place to go. Inexpensive, welcoming staff, centrally located...I loved it here. We're definitely coming back.

Cozy, Comfortable and Convenient
I spent one week residing here with my daughter. The room was cozy & clean. I could open the window for fresh air or turn on the air conditioner. The cable flat screen television and high speed wireless internet worked great. If you don't bring a laptop, no worries - there is a computer in the community area for guests to use free. The manager, Minook Park, was very helpful and accommodating. He obviously enjoys his work because he did an excellent job of making us feel welcome and right at home. The rooms are a little small compared to other hotels so there is not much space for luggage (stick to 2 suitcases).Staying in this hotel was kind of like staying in a bed & breakfast with a public living room & dining room on the first floor. Guest rooms are on all three floors. Some rooms have more space depending on whether you choose single bed, double bed, 2 twin beds, or 3 beds (1 twin and a bunk bed set) All rooms have a compact refrigerator and you can get free bottled water on the first floor. I especially liked being able to purchase my own food and cook it in the community kitchen. In fact, I cooked our lunch and dinner everyday during our 8 day stay. A basic continental breakfast is free -- toast with butter & jelly, and hot tea/coffee. The location of the hostel is literally a 1 minute walk to the nearest subway station and less than a minute to the nearest 24-hour convenience store (similar to a 7 eleven). My experience was quite enjoyable.

I stayed here with a friend on a Friday night before a trip to the DMZ with USO. For $40 we had bunk beds with clean sheets, clean towels, a TV, water in the fridge and the usual bathroom bits (toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, body wash). The owner was very very nice, he met us from Samgaki station exit 1 to take us to the hostel, which was very close. Upon our arrival he gave us both a Sharon fruit! It took us around 7 minutes to walk to the USO the next morning. Can't complain really for $20 each. The bathroom had a few mould spots, but I get that in my apartment in Korea as well, so wasn't too fussed.

Single room - great deal
Got all I needed in the single room -private bathroom, hair dryer, TV, small fridge, single bed (thought I have to say it is too hard for me, but it's depends on individuals really), towels, toothbrush..etc basically everything people would need is included. Breakfast is simple. Daily cleaning upon request. Owner is friendly and willing to share. As for atmosphere.. I didn't really see another people in the hostels, so it's not really possible to meet new friends in the hostel ( probably easier if staying in shared room though) Location is good, 5 mins walk to both line 4 and 6 station. Convenience store nearby. Overall I am very satisfied with my stay in Suncity.

I stayed here for one night during a brief visit in Seoul. The location is great- it's about 2 minutes from the War Memorial, a 15 minute walk to Itaewon, and also quite close to the National Museum and N Seoul Tower. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. The room was small, and while I wouldn't recommend this for people staying many days with a lot of luggage, it's perfect for one or two nights.
