The hotel is right at the heart of the city Villach. It has a special charm as the building is historic, but all facilities and rooms are brought up to standard and met our expectations. At 8:30am in the morning you will hear the church bell (two strikes to announce the half hour) as it is custom in many of the mid-town hotels in Austria. We thought it is nice that the church bell started at 8:30am and not earlier :-). It didn't bother us. Parking is available but might cost extra. The parking spaces are tight and getting into the hotel parking lot requires some driving skills. Another highlight is the breakfast. It was included in our room rate. It is excellent and uniquely served on a wooden structure that is placed on the table to save space. The next day we walked through the town and got a lot of souvenir shopping done. You can find everything within walking distance in the pedestrian walking zone. Another reason why we had a great time in Villach. We would definitely stay there next time again.

Nice Hotel / Great Location
Hotel Palais is in a good location - parking was a little bit of a science project to find, but not far from the hotel. I booked a single, so my room was small, but it was comfortable and everything worked to my satisfaction. The bar in the lobby was super - what I enjoyed the most.

Excellent and attentive customer service. A nice breakfast is included that other hotels nearby would charge. Room antique furnitures shows some wear over the years. Shops & restaurants are very nearby.

lovely place!
Hotel was awesome! Very convenient, right on the main strip near shopping, restaurants etc. it’s also a close walk from the train station (OBB) approx 5 minutes away walking. Staff were friendly, some were English-speaking, which was a perk. Decor was modern & on point. Room was clean, with super comfy bed & great vintage detail. Free Breakfast buffet also offered many options (yogurt, cheese, cereal, various fruit juices etc.). Can’t wait to return!

Nice hotel with a good location
We stayed at Hotel Palais26 during our trip around Europe. The hotel has a nice antique feel to it, but it is still very clean and modernly furnished. The breakfast was very good with all the basic things, and also there was a chef that made omelettes and pancakes upon request. The omelette was one of the best I've ever had. The location is also very central to Villach. Overall our stay was great.

If you are driving your own car, don’t stay here.
In good conscious, I cannot recommend this hotel. It is in a pedestrian-only part of the town, which is nice once you finally get there. But...we had a rental car, needed to park and had to hike to find the hotel. (We got a parking ticket while looking, which cost alot and took a lot of time searching for police station, post office, etc. The receptionist gave us a simplistic map...”It’s just a left and 2 rights.” None of the streets on her map were on our GPS. Even with Google maps we drove in circles for a half hour. Finally saw a policeman, stopped and asked for directions. Even then, not so easy. Bed was hard, horrible pillow, but the walking neighborhood is quite nice. A pretty little town. Breakfast was chaotic—bowls for cereal the size of a teacup. And the cereal was stale. They do make omelettes, which my husband enjoyed. Left there, feeling kind of ignored and disappointed.

The hotel is newly renovated , the interior is amazing blending a classical and modern twist . Amenties are good but lack slippers that have to be provided in a 4 star hotel

The property, in a building dating to the 1500's, is newly renovated in May 2019, with modern styles. The room was nicely appointed. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Top-Hotel an ausgezeichneter Lage mitten in der Altstadt von Villach! Weihnachtsmarkt direkt vor der Haustür! Das Hotel-Personal war äusserst zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit und das Nachtessen im eigenen Restaurant ist wärmstens zu empfehlen!

Ottimo hotel in pieno centro . Ottima anche la colazione sia dolce che salata . Parcheggio disponibile in hotel a pagamento. Per essere un 4 stelle manca il frigobar e la dotazione da bagno si limita allo shampoo e bagnoschiuma. (Camera superior). Comunque consigliato!

Ein wunderschönes Gebäude mit wunderbaren Zimmern, auch wenn die Wahl der Inneneinrichtung vielleicht geschmacklich etwas fragwürdig ist. Perfekt gelegen, ausgesprochen bequeme Betten, sehr gutes Frühstück, toll auch die leckere Limonade am Empfang und das Willkommensgetränk im Innenhof. Einziger Kritikpunkt: Das Dauergedudel der Musik verdirbt etwas die schöne Stimmung im Innenhof.

Modern in ein altes Palais eingefügt, liegt das Hotel Palais 26, zentral in der Stadt. Rundum das Hotel die schöne Fußgänger Zone mit zahlreichen Geschäften, Restaurants und Bars. Das Hotel selbst ist architektonisch sehr gut gelungen. Modernes trifft Altes! Unser Zimmer war sauber, geräumig und hell eingerichtet. Für ein Standart Zimmer völlig ok. Die Bar und das tolle Frühstück sind besonders zu erwähnen. Allgemein einen Besuch wert!

Stylisches, historisches Hotel
Das Hotel befindet sich in zentraler Lage in einem historischen Gebäude. Das Personal war durchweg freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer sind entsprechend des historischen Gebäudes aufgeteilt und nett eingerichtet. Der Eingangsbereich ist stylisch und ein hingucker. Das Restaurant ist empfehlenswert.

Alles super! Gerne wieder!
Der Aufenthalt war sehr angenehm und das Personal extrem freundlich und hilfsbereit! Tolles Zimmer und tolles Frühstück! Den Parkplatz im Innenhof haben wir etwas suchen müssen, aber mit der exakten Straße+Nummer von der Rezeption war das dann auch kein Problem! Gute zentrale Lage.
