I have never kept a review on any site and this will be my first. I have stayed at Novotel like 3 times now and this time he staff were rather absent minded. from I have 2 bookings please do not allow my room lapse and the staff did not do it . The keys lapsed and came in from the bank and the key lapsed and it took the intervention of 2 laptops to open the room -Mind you I had to go back to the bank and missed the appointment a I could not pick the document quickly. Also the TV went out so many times and it took me going to the service desk twice to remind them each time. Requested to speak to a Manager one night there was no Manager , no Supervisor and the next day dropped my number for a manager to call. Guess what No Manager called. I just realised that the service was tacky. and I spent 10days going through this. I really was not happy and not sure next time around I will be staying at Novotel Plateau in Abidjan.

Good hotel Le plateau
Nice hotel . Nice bar and restaurant area. Service at reception is slow so don’t leave checkout for the last minute . Most of the staff are generally pleasant. No decent restaurants within walking distance so you have to grab a taxi or eat at the hotel . Lovely views if you have river facing .

Hotel is in the Plateau an old part of town and mostly offices surrounding the property so after 5pm the entire area is dead. Nothing is open including the weekend. Unless you know Abidjan well enough to venture out by Yango or Uber. Local taxis are plentiful but look shady and vehicles look dirty and unsave. Food in hotel is ok. Breakfast buffet is the same everyday. It gets boring after day 2. Rooms are clean and adequate. Wifi sucks though. Keeps dropping.

The hotel itself is quite nice and the rooms are comfortable. Wifi is only strong on the ground floor, and the food was average at best. However The gym is good and so is the pool.

We were offered an upgrade on check-in, which it later turned out was much more expensive than originally explained. However, we had already committed by this point so proceeded under the illusion the upgrade would be significant. However, it was negligible. The complementary minibar was not restocked at all, the view that was meant to be an improvement was uninspiring, and the room was not bigger than the original. Overall, a disappointment.

my wife and I stayed here for about two weeks. It is a pretty nice hotel and centrally located. The entire staff especially at the bar lacked good customer service. We had two prices for the same tea and bread. One order at about $5.00 and the order at about $9. Same for cocktail my wife ordered. This time price was consistent but one was a mix of pineapple, orange, and passion while another bar tender told us we could only have pineapple, orange, or passion. The internet connection was very bad on the 8th floor where we stayed. This may be just the 8th floor as the reception area has excellent internet service. Many guests came down at the reception to work. We believe for better internet service. The hotel is also very expensive relative to food and drinks. We did not have breakfast, lunch, or dinner at the hotel since they were very expensive. Buffet breakfast about $25 per person and lunch about $50 per person. But thank goodness the hotel is centrally located so many nearby coffee shops and restaurants have very low or reasonable prices. The security is excellent and the security company has professional, very trained and excellent staff both the outside security and those inside. It is a very nice hotel apart from the bad customer service and the very high prices for food and drinks.

The room was very nice. The reception was professional. However, when I requested luggage assistance on the day I was checking out, I was told that assistance was on its way. I waited for 10 minutes then called again, no answer. I had to go downstairs and ask for a luggage rack. The second issue is that the hotel claims to provide airport service. Not completely true. The service only runs for limited hours in the evening. That needs to be disclosed up front.

Once again had to go to the ATM to checkout as they could not take credit cards. If you are in Abidjan for business and do not mind sitting in the lobby for internet usage fine but otherwise the internet sucks. On the plus side the wifi on the hotel shuttle works fabulously.

Clean room but hallway was smelly. The food was decent but expensive. Service was just ok in general. I especially had excellent service from Beh who manages the restaurant. Housekeeping was aggressive with cleaning, knocking despite the “do not disturb sign” until the door was opened. The cleaning wasn’t thorough either as the same three long strands of hair remained on my shower wall throughout my stay. The internet was excellent. There’s not much to do in the area after 5pm or on weekends and I was discouraged from walking on my own at these times. Overall, nice hotel though I would stay in a more interesting part of time next time

Room was comfortable, shower was excellent. The water was hot and the pressure good. There were no wash cloths in the bathroom but it was fine because we had our own. The bed was very comfortable. the front seat was very helpful, arranging taxis to take us to dinner and the airport. Akim was the driver and he was timely and helpful. Would recommend and visit again. The breakfast was good as well. A bit pricey but the selections were abundant and tasty. The hotel is safe, they scan bags and have you go through a metal detector as you enter the property. Beautiful artwork in the lobby. The staff were very friendly

Avoid the hotel shuttle!!!
Nice hotel rooms and design, good breakfast, nice outdoor area and gym and pool. What you would expect for the price. However, the hotel bar is about the slowest bar in Africa. Serving a beer consistently takes 15 minutes. You need to ask 3times, they say its coming and continue to do other things like pottering around on the computer. The hotel shuttle however is problematic. It left 10 minutes late, and then despite staff telling me it would go directly to the airport it went to collect passengers at other hotels. After more than an hour on a sturdy evening we were still not at the airport and I had to walk the last km to the airport because the bus got stuck and I was not going to miss my flight. what should be a 40 minute ride became an hour and a half. So get a taxi and avoid the shuttle

Hotel is in good location with pool and Gym and breakfast is good. Room is smaller as compared to other novotel but in good condition. We booked taxi from hotel which turned out be private and old car.

Nice hotel in business district of Abijdan
Nice hotel, mostly good service (one forgotten order at the restaurant), and very nice rooms and pool. Convenient if you want to stay in Plateau, the business district of Abidjan. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

Everything. The place is very clean. Staff members are very professional, friendly, helpful and well client-orienters. The buffet for breakfast was delicious. Functional but not special
The hotel was clean, quiet and mostly everything worked as expected. Check-in and check-out were effortless and the staff were friendly. The food on the a la carte menu was good although I found the buffet breakfast disappointing. All food and beverages push the price ceiling compared to other similar hotels in Africa. The hotel does not offer much by way of an ATM, money exchange, travel services, etc. Internet speed was manageable during the day, frustrating at peak times, and the connection dropped too frequently to successfully complete a single Whatsapp call home. The room was slightly musty accompanied by an occasional sewage odour and the air-conditioner had to work hard to maintain a comfortable room temperature. Opening the windows helped with the smell but made the air-conditioner suffer -- so not really a solution when it's 30 degrees and humid out. The bed was comfortable, the shower good and the room relatively quiet. Hotel location is not convenient for going out at night as the surrounding business district turns into a morgue after dark. But apparently it's a good choice for circumventing the city's tortuous traffic.

Not what I expected from a 4* hotel, absolutely...
Wi-Fi is horribly slow in the room. Toilet is so small you can barely close the door from the inside. Shower gel/consumables never get replinished, and there not even a soap to wash you hands by the basin. Most of the staff dont seem to be diligent in their approach to service.
