"Castle in the Sky Youth Hostel was one of the best hostel experiences I have ever had! The employees made sure to go above and beyond every expectation to provide excellent service. Not only did they consistently make me and my group food, but they ordered us cars, drove us places in their own car, and gave us numerous travel tips. "Overall, it was a reasonably priced, well-located hotel in Tunxi. The staff was pleasant, and the room was adequate. Nothing amazing, but the bathroom was nice and very clean, and the bed was reasonably comfortable."

"Friendly, capable check-in. Spacious room, HVAC heat works when it's cold raining and damp outside. Hot shower on demand, but be warned that electricity may be turned off before 17:00 hrs. No restaurant, several within easy walking distance. Breakfast coupon is for a noodle restaurant a few meters down the street. (menu in Chinese and English) Taxi fare from train station is less than 10RMB, and a complementary shuttle was provided to catch an early morning train to Shanghai!"

"Very convenient location for exploring the mountains. Breakfast was included in price and it was good. The heater in the room was very slow to heat but it kept me warm enough. The employees were all very helpful. One of the front desk workers helped book me a taxi to Hongcun, which was great because otherwise I don't know how I could have found a way there without wasting a lot of time."

"Positives: Great location for walking to Huangshan tourist scenic bus terminal (5 minute walk). Great beds - comfy. Room large. Negatives: Drains in bathroom producing dreadful smells that contaminated the room (they left window and doors open on arrival so didn’t notice then) No English available anywhere but we managed to get by checking in no problem due to reserving through booking. They can’t help with any queries regarding huangshan mountain though. "
