I was a solo female traveller, but my partner & friend were coming to join me on this stay after 2 nights.
On the 2nd night somebody called my room phone late at night and asked me if I wanted him to sleep with me. I complained to reception the next day and later spoke to the manager (around 11am). He said that he would look into it. At the same time he said that I had to pay more than double for the room - even though we had agreed the rates 2 nights before. I explained I had friends coming and it was late to change the bookings so he honoured the price for one night.
After hearing nothing about the incident by the time we checked out the following morning, I asked to speak to the manager. He said he had looked at the CCTV (although checked the wrong times - my fault as I initially said midnight but it was actually around 11.20pm which I did tell another member of staff) so he said he would look into it further. As a gesture of goodwill (baring in mind we had just checked out and already paid for another hotel) he would give us the same rate for another night.
The incident hasn’t been handled well and the communication from the manager has lacked, with no empathy. The room rates had been agreed with reception staff and it has inconvenienced our whole trip. To do a gesture of good will after making us checkout is another way of showing the lack of management.
