Singapore’s dedicated bird zoo is one of the most popular attractions in the city, drawing visitors from around the world. With over 5,000 birds from 380 species and all corners of the globe, Jurong Bird Park is one of the largest bird parks in the world. Since 1971, the park has provided the people of Singapore with a tranquil escape from the city, while educating them about conservation and environmental practices. The park plays an important role in the preservation of endangered species and is home to 29 threatened species of bird.
Board the guided trams that take visitors through the park for a family-friendly experience. The drivers educate you about the bird species before you make your own way through the aviaries to discover your favorites.
Walk through the giant enclosures that replicate the environment of each bird group. Cross the suspended walkways in the nine-story Lory Loft, the largest flight aviary at the park, to meet the colorful Australian lorikeets. Hold out a hand of nectar to be swarmed by these bold parrots, a fantastic experience for both adults and children.
Don't miss the African Waterfall Aviary which features a 100-foot (30-meter) waterfall and hundreds of free-flying African birds.
Make your way to the Penguin Coast to see the playful ocean birds splashing in the water. There are daily Penguin Encounter sessions that give visitors the chance to feed the birds. For a faster-paced experience, watch eagles, hawks and falcons soar high above your head in the Kings of the Skies demonstration.
