I arrived just after 9pm. The lady on reception was pleasant enough but was told I had just missed anywhere to grab any food or drink as everywhere on site closes at 9pm! I had been travelling for 19hrs and had I been made aware of this I would of at least tried to stop off
somewhere and pick some provisions up, especially as I had contacted the hotel to inform them that I would be arriving late!
The lady on reception said that there was only a vending machine. As I was tired from the long journey I did not make a fuss.
I was given a room (911)in block 900 and when I entered the block my heart sank. The smell in the corridor is really overpowering, the room was old and definitely see better days. It was clean however.
The vending machine in the corridor was out of order and a sign saying to use the machine in block 700. However when I went over the only thing that was available was Diet Coke everything else was empty.
I was staying for 2 nights and things did not get much better.
The staff were hit and miss as to whether they were pleasant or not
The breakfast buffet is not worth the $23 price tag
The general store was pretty pricey but given that it is the only non restaurant convenience store for miles around it did not surprise me.
Overall I wanted to like this place but honestly I have come away pretty disappointed. There does not appear to be any happy vibes coming from the staff which is a shame as that would go a long way to put a positive spin on the stay
