We have stayed many times over the years on holidays on Malaysia’s east coast we use Kuala Terengganu as a stop over between islands, Due to Covid this our first visit since 2019 and the hotel has improved a lot
Hotel really runs down, but the room service for cleanliness is absolutely unaccaptable.
*Given stained towel.
*Used tissues, hairs,etc.. that was used by previous hotel guest still inside the room.
*blood stained on the wall and on toilet curtain.
*cigarete smells.
I have no idea how this hotel got such high rating before this.
The hotel is old and lack of maintenance. There are stains on the carpet. The TV is so small that my monitor is bigger than it. The toilets are lack of amenities, only towels are provided. The hotel itself was constructed with the cheapest materials in the cheapest way. You can’t have a peaceful night and you can hear clearly about what is going on in the corridor. The swimming pool is close without notification.
I booked the hotel with breakfast. When I went for the breakfast, the staffs told me that only hard boiled egg and toast were available as the chef was not there yet. It was 9.30am.
I realised that walk-in rate is cheaper than online rate. I paid RM159/night with breakfast. However, walk-in rate is RM128/night. I feel cheated.
The only consolation is the attitude of the staffs are good.
In nutshell:
1. Not comfortable as the furnitures, toilet wares, floor tiles are all the cheapest materials. Don’t not deserve 3-stars. A boutique hotel will be better than this.
2. They tried their best to keep the cleanliness but it is impossible due to the age of the hotel. You can feel the feet is scratchy when you walk on the carpet. Gross.
3. No proper SOP. How can you advertise with breakfast but only provides a miserable breakfast?
4. Walk-in is cheaper than booking online. I paid RM159 with breakfast per night. Walk-in is RM128.
Don’t stay in this hotel unless you absolutely have to.
