Highly recommend
Excellent location, very central to some of the best cafes, restaurant, bars and live music in Sydney, a stone's throw away from the train station to link you to the rest of Sydney. The apartment itself is, although small, very well appointed with everything you could need for a short or long stay. The apartment is on a very busy street and the triple glazed windows do an excellent job of blocking the street noise. And make sure you check out the rooftop shared space. I would highly recommend Newtown Mews.

Than you for the review, that unit was completely refurbished a few months ago including the triple glazed door which resulted in a very quiet environment we love the little place and we are glad you did too thank you Narelle

Classy unit in the heart of Newtown
If you're looking for a modern, comfortable one bedroom unit close to the city, I would recommend Newtown Mews. In a secure block the units are set around an atrium which give a sense of open air. We were close to road and rail transport but having triple glazed balcony windows made it very quiet. I will definately use this listing on future stays in Sydney.

Many thanks for the review, I am in the USA right now and my manager is doing a great job, if only I could find similar accommodation for half the price I would be happy! wifi is really a must and all my units have free wifi and cafes close by!

Thank you- my cleaner is fastidious but must have not checked the freezer- no excuses- we pride our selves in sparkling clean! The Oven seemed clean but has had the glass removed now and an extra clean- thank you for staying

Thank you for noting the great location, Newtown is described by some as "the centre of Sydney", it is certainly the centre of bars, restaurants, Theatre's and the Dendy Cinema. 3 min walk and 2 train stops takes you to the City!

Much more than i hoped for !!!!
Not a hotel but much better a self contained apartment , spotlessly clean , comfortable and in great walking istance to transport , cafes bars , resturants , shopping , i cannot fault this accommodation , ease of contact with operator , everything you could need is there , my ealy arrival was accommodated as well , thank you , i will definately rebook this apartment on my next visit , and recommend to anyone wanting a much more personal quiet , and private experience !!!! Loved Newtown Mews !!!!!!
Many thanks Colleen, you join many others who wish to escape bland hotels for a modern clean apartment. Breaking news is I have just brought Unit 7 in the same complex, with a 7sqm private balcony and on Level 1 so stairs will be easier than Level 2. Personally I love the stairs to help keep fit. Yes, stepping out to Cafes, Restaurants and the train to the city makes the location superior. See you next time, Narelle

Great creative escape
I loved this space. Right in the heart of my favorite areas of Sydney, you couldn't ask for a better location. The room is fully contained if you are traveling on a budget. Narelle was my host and she was very accommodating to any query I had. I will definitely be back.

Comfortable apartment close to everything!
Check in was easy; the place was easy to find; the room was spotless when we arrived; the facilities are good quality; it's close to most of Newtowns best restaurants and a 2 minute walk to the train station. The only downfall, which wasn't actually that bad, was the noise level at night - the noise cancelling shutters block most of it out, but I'm a light sleeper so it was a little bit noisy for me. Other than that it was a perfect stay. Thanks Narelle!

Noise, noie and more noise
after having arranged early check in, floor still wet so had to wander around for another hour! Very noisy location. If you are not familiar with Sydney, Enmore Road is a main and busy road. Even with the noise damper shutters down... and when down then unable to open the sliding door for fresh air.

HI Davis Thank you, Newtown is busy but most people find the shutter blocks out the noise and you did arrive in the morning so the cleaner did her best to accommodate you with no extra cost for a half day early check in! Readers please see other reviews! The door does open with the shutter down!

Nice location, however there appears extra charges. The owner wanted £45 cleaning fee! Nothing about this on booking. The owner also charged £80 early access fee, we arrived on a 5am flight. No check in until 2pm.
Hello Just to be correct the extra $80AUD was for a 5am check in so the unit and to be vacant the night before . The $45 AUD is clearly shown as a extra charge- the rate you paid was half price so many people think the heavily discounted rate is a great idea and the $45 AUD cleaning fee is good value. In any case, you did not pay the cleaning fee. Most hotels don't allow check in before 3pm so my offer of a 5am check would be regarded by many as fantastic- a boutique apartment can offer this flexibility.

Home from home, only items needed was food. This place has thought of everything. Train are a 2 min walk and Circular Quays is 15 mins by train. Brilliant choice.

Four comfortable and convenient nights in Newtown
Our aim was to spend four nights in Sydney to see as much as possible of our son and his partner (living in Camperdown/Newtown) and have a day shopping in the CBD. Newtown Mews offered great convenience for rail access to City and back as well as to the host of shopping, browsing, eating and drinking options in and near King Street. What we didn't realise was the difficulty of being picked up or let down by friends or taxis on busy Enmore Rd, or that we would have to contend with multiple sets of stairs to gain access to our room. With quite a bit of luggage, arriving on a very hot afternoon, and I being blind, made the arrival process somewhat more stressful than anticipated. We owe a debt of gratitude to a friendly resident neighbour who helped us up with all our luggage. We didn't much like the smell of dampness in the room at first and were annoyed to find that the small oven/microwave was quite dirty, obviously not having been properly cleaned for some time. When we had cleaned it, we couldn't get it to work anyway. These were the only major negatives, apart from traffic noise, however, there were plenty of positives: a motorised external screen which cut out a considerable amount of the noise and the sun's afternoon heat; the apartment was clean and spacious, well equipped for a short stay, had a good and large fridge, washer/dryer and extractor fan in bathroom, and had a comfortable bed.

Hello Thank you for noting the clean, spacious unit, I did mention that due to blindness the stairs might be an issue, we do have a hand trolley and are always happy to help with luggage. There are 4 pillows and a coffee plunger though most guests head to the many cafe just steps away. We pride ourselves on sparkling clean ! All good wishes, Narelle

A cool place to stay
Great place to stay in a very cool area. Newtown is full of cafes, bars and small shops, lovely to walk round, has a great buzz to it and don't forget to call in at the local brewery. The apartment is lovely, with all mod cons, very comfortable and right in the cenre.

Well equipped apartment
Don't stay here unless stairs are not an issue. The apartment is well equipped and in the heart of Newtown so there's some noise to be expected. Ring Narelle if you have plumbing issues. I'm still confused about the dryer. In the apartment it says the dryer is turned off but when I talked to Narelle she said it worked. Clarify if you want a working dryer.

Hi Many people see the 2 flights of wide indoor stairs as good exercise but stairs may not suit older, or disabled clients. There are no plumbing issues but it seems you had trouble working the dryer- it is a front loader/ dryer combo and they are not as efficient as a stand alone dryer- there are clothes racks also for outside drying. This is the first 2 star rating so readers pleas read other reviews and decide for yourself! Narelle
