The rooftop terrace was great. Beautiful views. The location was perfect for walking the Historic Colonial Quarter. Some great restaurants are right around the hotel. There are grocery stores just a 15 minute walk away. The staff was helpful and attentive to whatever I needed. The negatives, hotel is right next to a busy street and the noise goes all night. Luckily I'm a deep sleeper or I would've had trouble sleeping. And the internet says they have an airport shuttle. They don't. I had to pay for a taxi. Overall it was good for my purposes. A few negatives but it was easy to see the sights of the city. And the ocean was just across the street. There's a couple of beaches nearby but they're small and you can't really swim there. But good stay for the money.

Unsafe place, the rooms are dirty, toilet seats are broken, rooms stink, people walking in and out. I left immediately!

The property itself was a simple hotel. Staff was super friendly and so helpful. They made sure we were comfortable. Property is walkable to la Zona Colonial and to Melacon district. We wanted to be more with the locals and found a nice park a few blocks down. They had awesome food trucks and beer. We enjoyed ourselves and will more likely returning to venture a little further.

The Air condition did not work, the smell in this place was terrible, the bed was old, in general I did not like this place at all.

The rooms with the patios have an amazing view. It’s not the most modern but it’s comfortable and still a good prize. The rooftop is fun to go have drinks with your friends or family. Overall I really enjoyed it

I loved the peace of being in front of the sea. Beautiful hotel. Is a very good thing they allow you to smoke. I will go back again soon. The employees are very nice. They served me very efficiently. The hotel is clean and secure. Also a very good location, close to the best parts of the city. I recommend La llave del mar

The staff were friendy & helpful. The room was nice & it had a balcony overlooking the sea. The only one small thing was the sink had no plug, & was too small.

El hotel es antiguo, aunque eso al inicio no nos importó, el personal q nos recibió fue amable, sin embargo no nos solucionó lo de la televisión, pues no tuvimos tv durante toda nuestra estadía; al tercer día nuestra habitación se inundó y nos cambiaron de habitación a la tercera planta, allí tampoco hubo televisión, y la señal de wifi no llegaba (prometieron que solucionarían eso y no cumplieron), en el último día de nuestra estancia, por la mañana no hubo agua, volvimos por la tarde y no limpiaron la habitación.

Hotel sencillo con buena ubicación
Es un hotel bastante sencillo pero cumple su propósito. La actitud del personal de recepción es excelente y se encuentra localizado justo frente al malecón y a distancia caminando de los atractivos de la zona colonial.

かつてはよかった海の見える旧市街のちいさなホテル
治安が悪いため、入り口は24時間施錠。脇のベルを押すと、開けてくれる。早朝出発のため、5時にタクシーと、その前のモーニングコールを頼んだが、部屋には電話がない。コールの時間に降りていくと、スタッフは寝たまま。慌ててタクシーを呼ぶ始末だった。来たのは、｢フレンド｣という白タク。さらに、セーフティボックスを頼んだら、側の監視カメラのモニター画面を見せて、｢部屋は安全だ｣。部屋の壁には、使えなくなったセーフティボックスが設置されたままだった。シャワーは、ちょちょろで、湯が出ない。

Convenient, nice staff
Easy to walk to the Old Santo Domingo, supermarkets, restaurants. One has to be flexible, the area is somewhat noisy. Squares and buildings need restoration but it is under way as it is a ruch historic beautiful area with national monuments. La Llave del Mar has a quaint restaurant with a short ibteresting exhibit of preserved rare fishes and sharks. Food was good, I was positively surprised, had a freshly cought rouper with garlic lemon sauce and salad. The staff: Elizabeth, Yonny, Juan and Juan, all friendly and nice service. Overall was a good stay for me.

Acceptable hotel; very good rate on special
The people were very nice and the location was very convenient though the ocean view rooms, being directly above Avenida George Washington, are incredibly loud. The room was basically clean but not spotless, leaving the impression that perhaps the comforter was only washed on occasion, for example.

Friendly host and Nice view
Good stay for one night. Not the best neighborhood, but very friendly host. Decent restaurant in connection to the hotel. Much noise from the street, but that was no problem for our sleep. Bathroom was old and not so fresh. Beautiful view looking over the ocean. Would stay there again if only for a short stay.
