The hotel is situated across the street from a sketchy park. The building itself has a mildew smell to it and I didn’t like that I had to exit my vehicle to open the gate to enter. That part didn’t feel safe. There is no security or staff on site.

The area was quiet. The property looks like it had seen better days. The elevator and the heater were not working. The big tree in the parking lot dropped sappy leaves that are hard to wash.

I really had high hopes for staying at Palmero House. I brought my handicapped mother who is wheelchair bound for a xmas getaway. Here were the highs and lows Highs Close to East beach Super clean rooms, quiet building, comfortable bed and accomodations Lows First we were given a non handicapped bathroom, but quickly changed to a different room with the appropriate bathroom access. Our heater was not working most of the night. The temperature in room wouldnt go above 69 degrees on a very cold night Called the front desk from the room and my cell phone. Their phone lines were down all night and part of the morning Palmero house is around the corner from the main Man Monte Hotel so u have to walk there to speak to the front desk or use any of the amenities. Before checkout, i requested fresh towels from house keeping. They never came I addressed several of the issues with the hotel front desk and manager. They blamed being short staffed the reason for all the mishaps.

Danielle the manager and Holden the manager of valet went above and beyond to make us feel special. They were so kind the entire stay and the rooms and hotel itself were beautiful.

The room was not great for the price. The halls in the hotel were dark, narrow and smelled of cigarette smoke. Tissue paper thin walls. It’s not up to the standard I would expect for a Mar Monte property

we really didn’t have any interaction with staff beyond the check in process. Housekeeping came just after 5pm while we were getting ready to go to dinner but that’s not that big of a deal. We called them to come back as we left for dinner. Hotel was nice and well appointed

Great place to stay
Fantastic stay as the upgraded us to the main hotel the Mar Monte, the room was clean, quiet, the staff was super nice. We got almond milk lattes and fresh fruit from the cafe and it was a breeze to stay there.

The rooms are fairly decent. Hallway walls and carpet are very old. Wish they had an onsite reception area. Once you enter the hotel, only place you can sit is in your rooms. With family/big groups it would be nice to have an open/reception to socialize

My stay was pleasant. The staff was kind but not well trained. They could not answer questions. The wedding staff in the Driftwood room was also kind but not efficient with the food. The bartender was fine. The front desk staff helpful but again didn't seem very knowledgeable. The bar staff by the pool bar was also exceptionally kind and gracious but absolutely terrible service. They wouldn't even accept a cash tip because it was a cashless bar. Not smart. They were slow, beyond slow, terrible and yet kind. The hotel room itself was just fine, clean etc. I was disappointed overall with staff and their knowledge and or level of training.

Charming and stylish property with excellent service! The only thing was bathroom in our unit smelled from the moment we walked in. I’m thinking there may be a sewage back up but the rest of the unit was adorable and the staff was EXCELLENT

Maybe not again…
The room is nice enough, but it was inconvenient to be away from the hotel amenities. Also, the parking lot was really tight… if you have a large vehicle or aren’t a confident driver, I’d stay far away.

Must go to the main htel to check in. Good service at check in. Gated parking which is a +++. There were hair on the beddings. Coffee maker wasn't working. But overall stay was good.

**Caution I booked the accommodation through Expedia and was quoted a lower daily room rate than the Mar Monte invoiced me. When I spoke to the Mar Monte staff I was given the run around that didn’t add up then they shifted to it being Expedia’s error.

We were glad to find this place, but the carpeting really needs to be replaced with non-carpeting. And if you clean with flat Fabuloso that needs to cease as well.

I loved walking to TRI-COUNTY PRODUCE for a smoothie. I loved the little deck. I didn't like being overcharged & needing to dispute a $270 transaction with my bank, as I paid top dollar, in advance. Staff seemed over tired and there was a general malaise about. Has to wait o er an hour for my room. Online the check-in time posted is 3PM. When you get there it's 4PM. One front desk for such a wide-spread collection of rambling properties is less than adequate. La Palmoro needs its own check-in. OVERPRICED

The parking was tough, small spots and tight. When the lot was full it was difficult to get out as the travel isle was narrow and little room to back out

Great pool at other property but room not cleaned!
We came for a family wedding. I knew ahead of time it was a separate property to the main hotel, Mar Monte. Staff was friendly when we checked in and we were able to arrange a slightly later check out. However, our room did not get cleaned the first day - even though we saw the staff in the hallway and left for several hours. We thought maybe they weren't washing the towels as an eco-friendly practice but there was no info. about this and NO HOOKS to hang our towels. We had to call to get someone to bring new towels - he came quickly but it was frustrating for what we were paying. We paid extra for our two older children (I didn't realize when I made the reservation). The location was very good for our events and I made a point to use the pool as much as I could as it's the best amenity. But, I do think this property is over-priced and service should be much better!

I have traveled often around the world and this is by far the worst experience I’ve had. There’s better hotels out there for the fraction of the price. The rooms were not thoroughly cleaned. I found chocolate and tissues on the floor.

The hotel had no record of our reservation. We booked 2 queens and ended up in 1 king. It was very uncomfortable for our family. The sister hotel we booked is a couple blocks from the main hotel where you check in. We did not bring a car with us, so we had to walk with all our luggage the couple blocks. They don’t offer any sort of shuttle service to the other hotel. I would not stay here again. Staff was nice, but everything was inconvenient.
