Rooms updated. Pool was fun for the kids, chlorine smell was a overwhelming. Entry into the pool smelled like cat urine. The restaurant attched to the hotel was not good. Service was ok, but staff was not prepared for a large group.

Great for families. Breakfast was good and had options such as biscuits and gravy and eggs. Only complaint is the water pressure in the shower was poor and had to use the bath spout to rinse my hair out.

I liked the that the Buckhorn Grill was open. We had a 1pm thanksgiving meal with local family and it was nice to be able to get something to eat after 7pm.

Our room was not cleaned after our first night there. The bath tub was extremely slick with no handrails. Sometime someone is going to fall! Found dead bug smashed on ceiling. Bed had frame squeak that showed up everytime I got into and out of bed

Just okay
It appears that the quality is starting to go down. Desk clerk was more interested in talking loudly to some guy in the back room about her car not working, rather than paying attention to checking us in. Around 9:30 that night there were a bunch of people and their dog laughing swearing and barking outside our window for about a half hour. They used to have cookies at the counter when you check in. Now just an empty crumb filled box.

the breakfast was fantastic. we stayed for 3 nights and every morning there was something hot that was different. The rooms have been remodeled which i didn't see pictures of this on the website. very fresh and updated. the only 1 complaint i have is the Beds. they are very hard and have springs so the bed is not the greatest. I hope they will update the mattresses in their rooms. Otherwise no complaints anywhere else. the breakfast area is always being cleaned and tables wiped down the minute you leave the table.

Getaway gone wrong
The General manager was a reallly big disappointment. The adjacent bar and grill made our entire meal incorrectly and also billed us for another meal that was not ours. After a very long wait to only get one of the meals corrected, our other food was now cold. When asked for a refund the Manager very abruptly said NO! We were shocked completely by her actions. No food and no money and she didnt seem to care at all. We were completely stunned! When we traveled around town, local people kept telling us to not stay there. Which was very unsettling also. The remainder of the staff did a decent job for us though. But will never stay there again!

Unhappy will never stay again!
My girlfreind had sugery and dr ordered no hot tub for 8 weeks. When we booked this hotel we thiught it was giing to be fun! We got there and the hot tub was ice cold counterperson didnt seem to care. The waterslide was off and the bar closed at 830.

Quiet stay with amenities
Country Inn & Suites is always a "go to" place to stay for me. Quiet surroundings on the edge of Prairie du Chien and within walking distance of Cabela's and a convenience store. Carpeting going up the stairs could be cleaned, but it is fall when a lot of leaves are tracked inside. The lady attending breakfast did an outstanding job of stocking and cleaning! I was amazed with her!

Hotel prairie du chen
Nice hotel on outskirts of prairie du Chen. Restaurant was not servicing food but bartender referred us to the barn which had a great fish fry. Water park was ok though only used the hot tub.

Gentleman upon check-in was far less than friendly. No greeting upo n arrival. When I approached desk just asked for ID. Never loojed up or at me. Gave key, stated 2nd floor and direction of elevator. No thank you, have a nice stay or anything. Far from pleasant or welcoming. Could have been having a bad day but nit guest's fault. Breakfast at 8am was not refreshed, cold and soggy, counter not cleaned. Room was clean and comfortable more than adequate. Beginning and end if stay not as would be expected. Hotel/ room wonderful.

This property is in need of immediate care. Paint peeling in our bathroom, dirty floors in the hallways and at least a power-washing of the exterior of the building is needed. Who ever manages this facility doesn’t seem to care much. We had a poor overall experience— from the rude check-in clerk to the low grade bedding. We will be staying elsewhere on our next visit.
