I went to book in. I had made a reservation via Expedia. The reception person told me there was no room for me. I asked the person to double check. But they either didn't or did not know what to do.
Was told there was no room available.
Had to go back up the road I had travelled down to another hotel for the night.
I've called both the hotel AND Expedia many times. The hotel had admitted the error.
However, I have not been refunded for this mistake, despite going through all the correct procedures.
The last time I called Expedia, I was informed I would get a call back within 24 hours. That never happened.
I'm STILL out of pocket, by roughly £95!
I will endeavour, never to use Expedia or IHG hotels, ever again.
Dreadful customer service.
I haven't even been given the option, by either party to a complimentary stay on my next visit to the area.
