Friendly place.
Very friendly efficient reception. Allowed us to store our bikes at reception. Sweets at reception. Great room. Tea and coffee facilities, not a given in France. Good breakfast.

Good hotel, very bad management
Due to an internet malfunction our room was booked twice.After asking the manager for a refund, with a smirk on his face he told us to take it up with Hotels.Com even though he had pocketed the money. We had booked bed and breakfast then he asked us for an additional E.9.80 for an second breakfast. No mention of this in the booking itinerary and has never happened at any other hotel. After 30 minutes we received an e mail from reception offering us the additional breakfast FOC as compensation for booking the room twice. HOW INSULTING! after we had paid £67.45 twice. We also noted when booking that there was supposed to be a mini bar included in every room. After mentioning this to the girl on reception she told us that none of the rooms had a mini bar. It would appear this hotel is run on con tricks inspired by the manager .

Quiet setting, even though it was very central. The pree parking was much appreciated as in Europe you pay for any parking space. Comfortable rooms with unexpected bonuses like balcony, mini bar and tub.

Convenient Hotel in a Stunning Historic City
First, the Hotel Chris'tel's location is excellent if you're touring Le Puy on Velay's old city streets, a short, pleasant walk away. You can walk through a nice park or straight down the street five minutes and you're there. The staff are very helpful with answers to any question you have. For us, it was necessary to change rooms because the TV in the first didn't work. All of this was accomplished quickly and easily. Our only challenge was the fact that we arrived in intense heat, and while the hotel staff supplied us with a fan on request, we were longing for air conditioning.

Great service
The property was several blocks out of the town center, but certainly very walkable to everything in town. We stayed two nights prior walking the chemin de st Jacque (Camino). The staff was very helpful with this non French speaking old couple. We'd return to this hotel.

comfortable and convenient
Nice hotel with parking close to the town square and a medium walk to the main cathedral. Good wifi and bathroom. Friendly staff even though we spoke no french.

Easy to find near the main square. Not as near the main cathedral as we thought, though. Friendly staff even though we don't speak French, nice rooms, good value.

Very good hotel for the price.
We needed a hotel for one night near to the old town centre. This was within walking distance across a park and turned out to fit the bill at a very reasonable price. Staff friendly and helpful. We also ate in the hotel restaurant, which was good.

Easy access to tourist sites.
We stayed in room #402 for two nights. It is a large room with twin beds. There is a refrigerator, desk, a luggage rack, closet for hanging and shelves, and two chairs. There is a separate toilet room, and there is a bathtub shower combination with room next to the sink for personal items. A hairdryer is also supplied in the bathroom. There is free parking on site and free WIFI. The hotel also has a restaurant. The hotel is located in the center of Puy-en-Velay and is walking distance to the major tourist sites.

Escale dans cet hôtel très bien tenu. Accueil parfait par une jeune femme très agréable et professionnelle. Le dîner au restaurant de l’hôtel est de très bonne qualité, la formule soirée étape très copieuse ! Bravo au chef et l’équipe en salle pour le service.

L'hôtel est bien situé et offre l'avantage d'un parking gratuit, ce qui est très pratique pour les voyageurs. Toutefois, l'isolation phonique, surtout au niveau des portes, laisse à désirer et peut affecter la qualité du séjour. Un autre point décevant concerne leur non-participation à l'ambiance du "Roi de l'Oiseau", un événement local. J'ai également remarqué un manque de cohérence en matière d'écologie : malgré les consignes affichées pour la réutilisation des serviettes dans le but de préserver l'environnement, celles-ci sont systématiquement changées.
