We stayed at the Kindness Hotel following a three day cycling tour. It was the perfect place to recover because it is about 5-10 minutes away from the Formosa subway station. It offers free laundry facilities, free breakfast, free drinks and snacks, and free ice cream 24/7. Yes, free ice cream! The staff is very friendly, and the hotel is very clean. We highly recommend the Kindness Hotel.

This was a great find and a very good base for our stay in Kaohsiung. Friendly, welcoming staff. The rooms are comfortable, very well equipped and the complimentary breakfast and all day snacks are a welcome bonus. Just around the corner is the Liouhe night market which offers some great eating choices and the Formosa metro station is a 5 - 10 minute walk.

YK- Kaohsiung Kindness Hotel Stay
Walking distance to LiuHe night market. Good snacks area and washing machine usage in the hotel. For Elite Double Rm type which can stay 3 ppl as stated in the booking policy, have to pay extra $$ for 3rd person to stay. FYI.

The hotel was extremely clean very convenient to everywhere, The breakfast had a great selection and the staff was very helpful, definitely stay here again the next time we are in town.

Typical chain business hotel
Check in was easy and staff was accommodating in our room request. Room for 4 was really crammed. Bed was old and stiff and creaky. AC was hard to control and that made it very uncomfortable (either hot room or frigid air blowing right on me). Free breakfast was nice. Location was good. The night market and the Formosa MRT station are walkable (but let’s face it, even the walk to the curb to hail a cab is hot and sticky in Kaohsiung in July…)

Bare necessities, not super comfortable
For a room meant for 4 people, space was very limited. The hotel does have all the necessary amenities. Breakfast is good. Bed is old, creaky, and not very comfortable. The AC is hard to control. In the tiny room, the fluctuations in temperature caused by the AC made the room very uncomfortable.

The room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. If you want to do laundry, wash your clothes in their machines, but take your clothes to the laundry mat a short distance from the hotel to dry them as the hotel dryers take a long time to dry the clothes.

the 24 hour coffee / tea bar leaves nothing to be desired. the free supper 6:30-10:30 was also excellent luckily i got an upgrade in my room. Overall the bed was comfortable and room was clean and spacious. WIFI not stable though.

Good: Very close to two subway lines. Unlimited dessert and espresso drinks in lobby. Breakfast buffet. Cleanliness in the room. Good lighting and lots of power outlets in the room for working. Lots of seating (sofa, chair, and stools) in the room. Bathtub has shower curtain. Plenty of toiletries. Not so good: Window faces the fire lane, so no view other than the concrete wall of the neighboring building two feet away. Zero sunlight. But still, for the price we paid (~US$70) we can't complain.

Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with egg station. Offered 24 hour coffee, tea, ice cream and desserts. Room was quite large with two double beds which were very comfortable. Complimentary water in the room every day. Close to metro station and night market. Very family friendly hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

Good location near night market, places of all ranges of food (cheap to fine), very clean, close to KMRT station, and courteous staff. Will return if in town. Price is a little high for room size and competition, but nice hotel.

Great family-friendly hotel. Kindness is real kind enough to serve free pastry and supper! We love their friendly customer service. The location is great and convenient to walk to Formosa Boulevard Station and Liouhe Night Market. We had very comfortable stays. Will book in future.

Although the hotel is small but it's only a few minutes walk to the station. The hotel staffs are friendly and helpful. The hotel also provided with free washing machines, dryers, free bicycles hire and free supper.

The front desk staff is not very helpful. I had a stomach upset and ask if they have any medication which I think any inn should stock as a first aid kit. The answer is a crisp ‘no’, not even recommending the whereabouts of pharmacy. This seems to go against the name of the inn using the word ’Kindness’.

Comfortable and Relaxing Stay
The hotel, located near the Liuhe night market, about 10 minutes walk from the Formosa Boulevard MRT station, an interchange station for the red and orange lines. The room that I had booked was comfortable and clean and the staff are generally polite and helpful. In addition to a good spread of food for breakfast, supper is also provided from 6pm till 10pm. There is also a snacks area where coffee, fresh cakes, snacks and ice cream are served the entire day. Highlly recommended for a relaxing and comfortable stay!

Perfect location- the hotel is 5 min walk to the Metro (Formosa station), 5 min walk to the night market, $4 USD taxi ride to the Love River- what else do you need in Kao?

The hotel is located near the metro station and a night market. Hotel also offer some free drinks, cakes and icecream. Free bike rental but they look very old and dirty. Self serve washer/dryers, detergents are free to use but the dryers weren't able to dry your garments properly, the sign said "dryer will not dry your clothes completely to protect the fibres, please hang them in your room to dry". Complimentary breakfast is ok, but the selections are almost the same everyday .
