I chose the Red Roof because it was the closest to another hotel where we were going to an event, which hotel was sold out. The bargain price should have warned me. The sign at the driveway, "Low weekly rates" was another caution. And several dilapidated cars.
The room itself was immaculate and we dropped off our bags and changed for the event. We got back about 10 PM and there were a number of men standing around in the parking lot smoking and talking loudly. This continued until about 2AM. The smoke filtered into our room. A car alarm went off but I didn't want to risk going out and possibly confronting someone.
After a few hours of restless sleep we checked out at 6 AM. The management did refund our payment for the second night, which I appreciate.
