The decorating is unique & interesting.The staff is polite & helpful. The complementary breakfast is good, & it’s very close to the medical center. Ylem is an older property, & there is a bit of a musty smell. If you are sensitive to smells, you might want to bring an air freshener of some sort. The pillows are tiny, so I will be bringing my own pillow next time. The price is reasonable. I would not stay here for a vacation, or “romance”, but it’s good if you have to be at the medical center, & don’t want to spend a lot, or pay extra for parking. A lot of the nicer places in the area charge for parking.

I was initially excited about this charming looking and not expensive hotel, but it really didn’t live up to expectations even though my expectations were pretty basic. The first night I was there, the hot water in that room’s bathroom was not working. So cold shower it was. That same night at around midnight, someone must’ve confused my room with theirs and they tried to enter my room. For some reason, their key actually worked, so they must’ve double booked it or something. The only reason the door didn’t fully open was because I had the latch on it. But the fact that a strangers room key actually managed to open my door was terrifying. I did not feel safe that night. I spoke with the front desk the next morning and they were very apologetic and switched my room (which had hot water thankfully). But I was not offered any compensation for the mishaps and safety breaches of the first night. They are quick to charge you for incidentals upon check-in, but if the hotel messes up, no compensation is offered. Very disappointing experience unfortunately. The hotel was also undergoing renovations and you could hear everything going on in the halls, so it got quite noisy.

Simply do not recommend this hotel at ANY Price…this place is Hotel hell. Hotels under a complete renovation and yet there is NO MENTION that you are stay at a hotel under renovation—— it should be CLOSED until staff/standards and repairs and remodeling is completed. Room we were given was clearly a room that had NOT BE RENOVATED YET. And staff could care less about the condition of room or dirtyness of the room and facility in general. Bedding Hair in bed Mattresses so old they have permanent 3 in / 4 deep impressions in them Stains on pillow and pillow protectors stains mattress Had to change own sheets Pillows so small they where barely size of soccer ball Overall room: Room smelled of mold Bath tike cracked out side tub to cut your feet on Tub drain rusted badly. Windows seals failed decades ago to where they can not be even seen through. Windows vapor seals are broken on ALL WINDOWS for what appears to be Years and years such that the inside of windows are overgrown with bacteria/ mold growths that make the windows almost opaque such that you can even see through them.. Drywall falling off the wall and ceiling where leak in bathroom above above 115 was not patched or repaired Carpet stained and dirty and need replacing again years ago. Overall facility: No business center - existed but was a completely filled with boxes and remodeling debris and junk. Broken auto glass in parking lot and grass area 50 old toilets and tubs stacked all over parking lot

Cute little spot. Very clean and quiet and was conveniently located for our destination. Super comfortable as well. The only thing I would change is the size of the pillows, they were quite small but not enough of an issue to keep us from staying there again.

Our bathtub had a lot of rust in it but other than that it was a very pleasant stay!! there was a good shuttle service to the NRG stadium (although the driver drove a bit wild!) and the front desk staff were all very nice. There were also people being very loud till about 3 am but it was a weekend.

Such a cute hotel that provided free breakfast with various options. There is a very cute bar as well that has many options of liquors. The beds were comfortable the rooms were spacious. Very pleased with our stay. We came during the Rodeo which is literally walking distance to the NRG stadium. The hotel provided a free shuttle to and from the rodeo which was amazing! The only con was that they currently have some limited parking due to remodeling and also due to high volume or traffic for the rodeo. Over all this exceeded my needs and I will definitely be staying there anytime I go to the NRG stadium for future events.

Loved the establishment. The employees were friendly and communicative. The only issue I had was that the bath tub was a bit dirty upon entering and its drainage wasn’t so great in our bathroom. Ventilation was also a concern of ours as we didn’t really see any vents in the room. Everything else was good!
