Received a friendly welcome at the Reception Desk and could check into my room over an hour before check-in time. They make a good Cappuccino with Almond or Oat milk. Service in the restaurant is very attentive. One feels taken care of in this Hotel, yet it has a sophisticated laissez faire.
My room had pretty pool view and the maid came at bed time and brought a tea light, a mudpie and a bottle of water. Happiness is a protagonist in this story.
Upon checking in the hotel Zaza, the front desk was adamant that the Monarch restaurant and bar closed at 12 am. Returning to the Zaza following our football bowl game at 11:40 pm our group of six and several other groups were told that the last call was served at 11:30 and we would not be served. The bar tender then disappeared and the front desk was rude when we reminded them of what we were all told when we checked in that the bar closed at 12 am.
I had a wonderful stay at Hotel ZaZa in the Museum District in Houston. I love the location - right near the museums and parks. Houston is a sprawling city and this is a truly special location, where one can walk to the parks and museums and is close to great neighborhoods like Montrose and Rice University. The staff were excellent, courteous, and helpful. I arrived early and was able to check in as rooms were available. I love the balcony room with sweeping views. This is a great place to stay with a wonderful location and skilled and attentive staff. I highly recommend Hotel ZaZa in the Houston Museum District!
Very dated..rooms have not been updated in 20 years, felt it as advertised very differently in Expedia. Music was baking in my room from the bar until 11 pm
