Checked in 9ish PM and greeted by a not so friendly lady at the front desk. It’s night time and stressful before Christmas, that’s somewhat acceptable.
No amenities in the room which was odd but this was a cheaper hotel so we thought that’s how they do it?
First/second nights went fine, was only there to sleep and watch some late night movie.
Woke up on our 3rd (and last) day and brought some of our non-valuable stuff to the car before grabbing breakfast in the lobby, since leaving the valuables (laptops, etc) in the hotel room is safer, right?
After having breakfast (which was really decent) we go back up to the room to grab the rest of our stuff and check out. Turned the corner of the stairs and saw our hotel room opened with none of our stuff inside. Proceeded to freak out.
Ran down to the front desk in hopes of we don’t know what. Man at the front desk asks us what room we’re in, say our number and get a lovely “no one is in that room”. Luckily we had the room card with the little paper envelope that says our room number.
After asking our name the Man figured out we were placed in the wrong room (that’s why no amenities) and they thought they had squatters or something.
Turns out they took all of our stuff and moved it into storage and it wasn’t stolen. The front desk man was really nice making sure we had everything and nothing was missing.
We didn’t calm down for 2 hours.
