Terrible

Only 1 keycard is given, very inconvenient as my spouse needs to go out to get some stuff. Only 2 bottles of mineral water provided per day Air conditioning self cut off after some time, need to turn it on many times Check out at 12pm SHARP. Front desk called for check out at 1210pm Terrible breakfast, not much variety and food does not taste good Traveller please stay away from this hotel. Go for either St. Giles or The Granite. We had an excellent stay at The Granite

Terrible staff

Staff was terrible. I booked a deluxe room (with city views it said), and instead I got a room looking to a parking lot (it was ridiculously close to the cars).I went down to reception three times (Sunday evening) and the guy gave me no alternative despite admitting that it was their/the websites mistake. It wasn’t until I asked to speak to the manager that the guy offered me to change the room with a really bad attitude. The rest of the staff were neither friendly nor professional. Otherwise, the rooms were really nice and the location is convenient

Good location with friendly and helpful staff. Front office staff, WJ helped me to arrange a taxi at 4am to go to airport. Since it was too early to have breakfast, kitchen staff arranged a fruit plate for me the day before. Fantastic service, the room also very nice. I will definitely come back next time I go to Penang.

The bedsheet and liner all full with very strong softener smell. The smell is unbearable and if you are sensitive to that, you really cant sleep the whole night. for light sleeper you may request room facing backyard and don’t choose highest floor (4th floor). If the night is raining night, you definately cannot sleep because the water drops at something aluminium plate at the top. It is super annoying.

Angenehmes Hotel in guter Lage

Angenehm ruhig im und ums Hotel. Sehr gute Lage, um George Town inkl. Streetart zu Fuss zu erkunden. Schöne Zimmer. Viel Platz beim Frühstücksbuffet, Auswahl ok. Kaffee lieber anderswo trinken 😉, was aber bei den vielen, tollen Kaffees in George Town kein Problem ist!

I paid the tax 12 RM on arrival. Hope next time Expedia charges altogether so that no need to pay extra to the hotel. The breakfast was quite poor, not much choice and most of the food was too hot to eat for the foreigners.

Decent

The hotel is located on a relatively quiet street except for the bar directly across from the hotel which plays very loud music till late at night. Check in and out was smooth and easy. Location is convenient in George town. Room and bathroom was clean. The bed was quite hard and the pillows were too soft (sank in completely). Overall, a decent hotel to stay in for a few nights.

Hidden Gem in the city

Room was comfortable, near the Jetty, places of interest and cafes. Jalan Chulia and little India are reachable by foot. Happy to be here.

The location is great for walking and seeing the authentic part of Penang. Lots of great places to eat and the hotel was clean and the staff was kind and helpful.

A hidden gem

From checkin the stay was pleasant. I was surprised with the room, it was clean and tidy but an accessible room. I asked the staff and they said it was fine for me to stay in there. I loved the space, shower was huge naturally but the bath mat soaked up a lot of the water. Easy walk to Little India, transport and the Boston Cafe across the road is great. Worth the money great location. A walk thru the street Art is a must in Georgetown
