The workers were not very helpful, and someone was smoking marijuana continuously on the second floor. We had to stuff a towel under the door to restrict the smell. One of the front desk employees was coughing and sick, and housekeeping never cleaned our room. I had to take dirty towels to the front desk to get new ones myself.

Overall a good stay while in town to visit Carowinds. Rooms are comfortable and clean but hallways, especially carpets, could use some updating.

We were heading to Florida and needed a rest. We searched the hotel near the highway, this hotel came out. For the affordable price, the location and service were excellent. However, the cleanness of the location needs improvement. For the price we pay, it was overall good.

The whole hotel needs updated. The room I stayed in was clean, but dated. Also you need an elevator for people who have trouble with steps. The pool should have been emptied of water, as it was December. The water in it was green and terrible to look at. The staff was friendly, especially the man who checked us in.

The pictures were a bit deceiving. For the price it was ok. It just wasn’t exactly what I was expecting but the breakfast wasn’t fairly decent.

Nice hotel to stay at on a friendly budget. The rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable and the hotel offers free continental breakfast which was a big plus. I would stay there again and I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay at a reasonable priced hotel.

Well the place is cheap for a reason. Sam is the guy that checked us in and he was nice except he gave us a room that was already occupied. The hallways were dirty, smelled like weed. The mattresses were terrible, super sunken in the middle. It was not a good experience. We will spend more to stay somewhere else next time. Can’t control the volume of guests but you could hear everything in the hallway and adjacent room. Place was noisy, we barley slept. It was terrible.

The service was good. The employees were helpful and very accommodating. The full hot breakfast was good. I would stay again.

Pretty good and clean
I would give this place a 3.8/5 stars. the outside of the building was pretty run down especially compared to the two. Other hotels in the same parking parking lot. The inside had a bad cigarette smell, but the lobby was clean. The carpets in the hallway were pretty stained. When we opened the door, the hotel was pretty decent. But the carpet was pretty outdated. The bathroom was nice. Except the shower that had a whole punched in the wall but it was a walk-in so that was nice. The toilet in the shower were an ugly yellow. The TV was an LG, which was really nice and I watched Friends so bonus points. you had to request housekeeping and you also had to go up to the desk for toilet paper and anything you need replenished which was a con because we were there for three nights. the king size bed was lovely and a very nice headboard. The sheets were clean, but the blanket on top had a yellow stain. The chair had a stain on the seat, but was pretty comfortable if you put a blanket on it. The guy was super nice who checked us in. The continental breakfast was nice. It had really good sausage patties, eggs, toast, muffins, waffles, that you made yourself, yogurt, apple juice, orange juice, fruit, juice, and a mini coffee station. Overall it was nice and right across from Carowinds which was why we were there.

My family and I have stayed here twice now. Both times the checkin staff was either weird or not friendly. The hotel is old and it shows, but worth the price. Breakfast is great!

The hotel lobby was a treat! Sat there by the fireplace before we left. Bed was very comfortable. Staff were sweet! If in this area again we would definitely stay here again!

Pleased
We arrived later than we wanted to but we were greeted by a very friendly gentleman at the front desk. Every staff member that we encountered was very friendly. They did a great job keeping the breakfast counter-filled and clean. The bed was comfy and the room was clean. The hallway had an odd smell but other than that the hotel was very clean. Would definitely stay here again when visiting Carowinds.

Needs A Good Renovation
The Hotel is just run down, even missing electrical outlet covers in the rooms. The mattresses need to be replaced as they slump in the middle and the most uncomfortable nights sleep. Carpets in the hallways need a good clean and the stairways could use a lot of touch ups! Overall, Hotel has a very musky smell.

Served it’s purpose but wouldn’t stay again
The front desk rep was very nice but the hotel overall was pretty gross. The shower head sprayed water everywhere except in the shower. The beds were super rigid around the edges of the mattress but the middle was sunken in. The rooms had paper thin walls and you could hear every sound all night from laughter to doors opening and closing.

The room was outdated but did seem reasonably clean. Step out in halls and it didn’t feel as clean. People had trash bags outside their doors. Stairwell smelled terrible and had stomped on French fries on the stairs half the day and the next day

There was hair and dirt inbetween the sheets, the a/c had mud caked all in vents, the floor had not been vaccumed. We had no smoke detector hooked up in the room. The hallways were filthy with dirt and trash all against the walls. The stairs going upstairs looked like it has never been cleaned. The lobby looked updated and had a good breakfast. Would not recommend
