We loved our stay at El Silencio! Conveniently located to everything in La Fortuna area. Room was spacious and bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good and included in price. We also enjoyed one dinner on the property which was also good. Hot springs weren’t large like Tabacon but multiple pools in lush setting and only for hotel guests which was lovely. We paid for a day pass to Tabacon hot springs but really didn’t need to. Loved the farm on the property. Very eco-friendly. Great place for couples and families. Would definitely stay here again! Highly recommend.

This place fell a little short of the expectations in the pictures. That said, compared to what's in the area, it works pretty well for the price. Because it's a smaller place, we had to sign up for breakfast in shifts and the pool wasn't really something that could accommodate more than 8-10 folks. Really great staff. Very comfortable room. Cocktail on arrival! Horse riding and farm elements were awesome.

This is a hidden gem in the now overdeveloped Fortuna area. A quiet, serene resort where you hardly notice other guests. The hot spring pools were amazing and never crowded, the staff was super friendly. They have a farm that is farm-to-table and you can visit all the animals. The food was great, the service was great and the rooms were very comfortable. Really a nice place!

The grounds really are as beautiful as shown in the photos with many birds and currently a sloth in a tree near the Farm. The thermal pools, although completely artificial, are also lovely and another highlight of the property. The Farm is another nice amenity. The regular pool is a small, but that's not what you come to Costa Rica for. The snack bar menu available by the pools is pretty reasonably priced and quality is good. Free breakfast is a plus. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are large with high ceilings. Each has an outdoor table and chairs and a view of Arenal from the front door. In the morning you are awakened by the chirping of birds. My only quibble is the interior furnishings are a little mixed. Our chalet had a 20 year old plastic countertop that seemed out of place, but it appears they have been replaced in other units. The use of a lawn chair for the desk was also a little disappointing. Wifi and hot water were solid, although the sink faucet would make loud vibrations / sounds at certain water pressures.

It was a beautiful property - very lush with plants and flowers. It was also very fun to visit the farm and see all the different types of birds as well as horses and goats.

I can't rate this property highly enough. The grounds are stunning and beautifully maintained. Each room is an individual tiny house/cabin with AC that cools it perfectly. The decor is typical Costa Rican. There are thermal pools (and a regular pool) on property, which are incredible to relax the muscles after a long day full of excursions. The drinks and food by the thermal pools were great; we enjoyed dinner there twice during our stay. Breakfast is included each morning; options were great and the fresh fruit and juice simply delicious. It is about an 8 min drive to downtown La Fortuna - perfect to avoid the traffic and bustle but still make it easy to head downtown for dinner. The treat for us was the small farm on the property: everything from a vegetable garden to a pig, horses, cows, chickens, sheep, goats, peacocks and more. My teenagers LOVED it (and they're not impressed by much these days). We were even treated to a sloth and it's baby in one of the trees behind our cabin. The staff was simply amazing and accommodating every step of the way. Highly recommend this hotel; we would certainly stay again if we return to Costa Rica. 10/10.

This is a unique and special hotel in La Fortuna. The hotel staff are warm, inviting and helpful. There is a farm onsite and our daughter was able to ride the horse. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. We saw many birds and a sloth on the property. The hot springs were lovely and we enjoyed them every evening of our staff. It is quiet because they don't sell day passes for the hot springs. We would return to this hotel in a heartbeat! \

This hotel is amazing! The property is a small paradise. Hot springs on site with waters at different temperatures. No need to go out and be with the crowd.The cabins are spacious, and clean. They use produce from the farm to cook breakast. Fresh squeezed drinks every morning! The eggs taste so good, not like the grocery stores one. Uber available.The restaurant has great food for lunch and dinner as well. I highly recommend this place, we loved it.

I absolutely adore El Silencio. The staff is top notch. From cappucino artistry at breakfast, to attentive housekeeping and front desk service, to the wonderful staff maintaining the farm and garden. Very centrally located for tour pickup and local attractions and restaurants. My son and I had a fantastic stay and can’t wait to return. Will recommend to all my friends who go to Costa Rica!

Exceptional service, friendly staff and beautiful grounds full of birds. The view of the volcano was fantastic and the farm was delightful. We enjoyed having the pool to ourselves. The bar and springs were open late which was very convenient.

Wonderful! Thermal pools were perfect, even in the pouring rain and spread out in a way that we could almost always have a pool to ourselves. The restaurant has very good food, with many of the ingredients straight from their farm. Staff were wonderful. Rooms are set up for privacy. Not many places to put clothes or hang towels, but that’s a minor issue. Overall great value

This was one of the most unique hotel experiences we have had. Having a casita with no adjoining wall was nice for a quiet, private stay. The staff was very friendly and helped us set up a last minute sloth tour. The little farm was a super nice surprise. They had a bunch of different animals with some wild variations on birds. The hot springs were also awesome...especially since there were cool pools close by to alternate hot/cold. It was very invigorating. The only complaint was no television channels in our casita. We like to wind down with a couple of shows before bed. Fortunately, someone did not disconnect their Netflix account so we could watch a few thins there.

If one could special order a couple who would be absolutely perfect at maintaining and running a hotel, our hosts would fit the bill. They were a wealth of information, made us feel like friends and they were so warm and welcoming. The property and the rooms are wonderful, clean and beautiful. Other folks from the community show up to enjoy their breakfast, it’s that good. One can walk to a beach, and they help to arrange boats for other jaunts. They have a sense of community, and try to keep to ecologically appropriate ways. And under the rooms on the deck is some great snorkeling, would you believe! Highly recommended.

We loved our stay. The room was magical, the vaulted ceilings and open layout was amazing. Walking up to the sound of rain on the rooftop was a highlight of the trip. Since it has limited number of villas, the 5 hot spring pools were almost always available to have to ourselves. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Parking was behind a locked gate. Very well located and near everything. We even enjoyed the farm and the huge variety of birds and animals on the property.

Very cozy cabins per family. 3 Hot Springs were quiet and not busy. The farm with animals and garden with vegetables were great for children. The staff was excellent. They helped us with all our excursions. Highly recommend this quiet hotel.

A good experience so far.
We stayed there Dec 2023 and the hot springs are nice though there was no notice that it's not filled up during morning. The regular pool seems forgotten. The rooms are nice, clean but on a smaller compared to the other hotels that we stayed in La Fortuna. The location isn't as close to the town. You have to get a cab or other transport to be able to go to places. The meals/breakfast were tasty and has more options.Receptionist was friendly to arrange our tour. TV is kind of frustrating as it wasn't set up properly. We had paid some of the meals (lunch/supper) and one of the meal was charged double when we already paid the waiter that time. Good thing I kept a copy of receipt. Overall it was an ok experience.

Excellent staff, friendly and helpful. Beautiful landscape with hot springs in a tropical rain forest setting . Free breakfast is very good and we have dinner there twice during our stay and it was excellent both time . We could ordered something that is not on the menu and Juan Carlos our server went out of his way to make that happens . We strongly recommend this hotel .

Hotel el silencio del campo is staffed with very friendly people. The grounds are well maintained and very peaceful. Their thermal spas are nice and are seperated enough to feel like you are by yourself in the middle of the forest. They do have a small farm and sometimes the animals are out and about. Very beautiful and serene.

We loved this hotel. Unlike some of the bigger resorts, this place has only 24 cabins and ~5 pools, so a good ratio! Friendly staff. Immaculately clean. Great gallo pinto and fresh fruit for breakfast. The kids also loved the farm - milking the cow, collecting eggs, and visiting with the gardener.

Loved the wildlife strolling thru the grounds. The working farm was so wholesome. the hot springs were just right. When we were showed our room it was cooking hot. The safe instructions required two different staff members help. The other couple we traveled with experienced the same safe issues. Over all we highly recommend Hotel El Silencio del Campo.

Loved it and can’t wait to return!
Loved it! Staff was super friendly and helpful. Accommodations were clean and updated bathrooms. Bed was a little uncomfortable for my husband but fine for me. Hot spring pools were amazing! Great views of Arenal from each room as the cabins were staggered. Loved the individual cabin rooms each with their own outdoor space. With only 24 cabins/rooms, It had a small resort feel which made for a more personal experience. Breakfast was delicious and made to order everyday. Eggs and vegetables from their own farm! We had dinner once at the restaurant and that was delicious too! Would def return!

The staff in this property were just amazing. The view to the volcano is nice but not the best due to too many buildings around. The thermal waters and the spa was just a dream.

Beautiful place to stay for Families. Nice clean rooms and bathrooms. Welcome drink was served. Breakfast was great. Staff was quick to respond. Beautiful view of the Volcano. Animals on their farm is a great addition for families to enjoy some activities in the morning like milking the cow, horse riding and chicken coop. Does have a hot spring and a pool.

Special place in the Arenal/La Fortuna area
Wonderful staff, very clean and a lot of fun stuff for kids to do like milk a cow, ride a horse, collect eggs from chickens, jump on a trampoline, swim in the pool. It's also a great place to enjoy the hot springs and jacuzzi with a drink that's next to the bar. My room had a great view of the volcano. A special thanks to one of front desk receptionist, Leon, who went out of his way to help me retrieve an item I forgot at my last hotel. Leon and the rest of the staff make the hotel very special place to visit.

We cannot say enough about Hotel El Silencio Del Campo! First, the people who work here are excellent. They were very helpful, positive and clearly cared about our experience. I had my birthday while we stayed there and they helped my husband purchase flowers and a cake. The woman who cleaned our room made an adorable figure out of the towels. The front desk folks also helped us make a reservation at Travesia (which I highly recommend). When we asked for recommendations for pizza take out they recommended Que Rico, which was delicious. The folks who work at the restaurant and bar were equally wonderful. They filled our water bottles every day with water and ice. They gave us bags of ice for our room each night. They made smoothies and cocktails whenever we wanted one. When the bartender spotted a sloth in a nearby tree she made sure to share it with us. Second, the property is beautiful. The landscaping is breathtaking. The path to walk down to the hot springs is magical. At various times we saw colorful ducks, a large, adorable pig walking the grounds, iquanas, ponies, many birds and lizards, a turtle. I found different ways to enjoy the property every day. Additionally, the hotel is not crowded at all. We often had the pool to ourselves. Occasionally, we shared a hot spring (there are several of them) with two or three people. We highly recommend staying here!
