Do not stay here. The worst hotel experience we have ever had.
We had made confirmed reservations through Expedia. We checked with the hotel about 8:30 PM and gave them our name to make sure we could check in around 11:30 PM. They told us no problem.
When we arrived, a different clerk said he had no record of our reservation, and told us we would have to go somewhere else because they had no rooms. We then demanded that the clerk call the manager because we were tired, and we were relying upon the good reputation of Expedia and Hilton to honor our reservation. The clerk explained to the manager that they had 18 reservations that had still not checked in, and the manager told him to give us one of the rooms. (Over the course of that conversation, we overheard the manager tell the clerk that she didn’t want to be bothered by the situation.)
Well, he gave us a room - which turned out to be occupied. We scared the sleeping female guest out of her wits when we opened the door and turned on the lights. We felt very lucky that she did not pull a gun on us- something I probably would have done had I been in the same situation. (Lesson learned: always bolt the door.)
Rather than risk another crazy encounter, we gave up, called some relatives and went to stay with them in their basement - not as comfortable but safer.
While all this was happening, six more people were also denied rooms. Four of them also left.
