for the price, it's okay .. a little over-priced for me .. certainly a 3-star hotel at least .. the complementary breakfasts were scrumptuous and varied .. all local night-life accessible via tuk-tuk .. the Thai consulate is walk-able .. i'm very neat so i din't need daily cleaning services .. if you like Lao beer, it's cheaper at the local mini-mart not far from the hotel .. and .. not far from there is Sabaidee Sushi which is quite nice :) .. all in all, a very nice experience! :) ps: the internet speeds are decent compared to others :)
"Confortable but a little bit far from central area"
Regarding facility gym is excellent! But unfortunately often wifi is unavailable because of the account issue. When I couldn't connect, I told the staff about that, and he gave me a new account, and I could. But next evening, again I couldn't connect. What happened?
Though the central area was far, we could use shuttle bus service every 30min.
We did ask for any casino in Loas and the reception counter staff did arrange us teksi from hotel to the border of Thailand/Loas.Thoughout the journey from hotel to the border only take arround 30-40 minutes and we encounter more of the Loas's mainland activity. Will plan to go back with longer stay in Vientiane.
Vientiane Laos is a city with the two extremes luxury at the top end & very basic living at the other end. The Hotel Salana Boutique is at the top end! Laos people are attentive by nature the Hotel staff went that extra mile to assist with anything! Great breakfasts again with the personal touch! I'll stay there again!
We were at Mercure in the 2nd week of July 2014. We arrived early so while waiting, we requested for a massage and the hotel staff arranged for it promptly. On the first day, we took a tuk tuk to the city centre, however, we decided to explore Ventiane by foot and by bicycle after one of the staff showed us how convenient it was to get to the Nam Phu (city centre) area if we went by the riverfront route as opposed to using the main thoroughfare. We had a great time exploring Ventiane. We were also very impressed with the food and the ever friendly Lao people. The Lao people may be one of the poorest people in Asia but we certainly didn't see any unhappiness on their faces.
Only stayed at the hotel for 1 night, hotel is beautiful and luxury. Food was lovely and staff treated us very well and took care of us. Didnt do too much but just relaxed, we used the spa and facial was amazing,my skin felt very good, would reccomend this hotel.
