A Memorable Stay at the Mandarin Oriental
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Mandarin Oriental Tokyo Hotel, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the warm and friendly staff to the impeccable amenities, this hotel truly exceeded all my expectations. Upon arrival, I was greeted with genuine smiles and a seamless check-in process. The reception staff was incredibly helpful, providing me with all the necessary information about the hotel and its facilities. The lobby itself was beautifully designed, creating a welcoming and elegant atmosphere. The room I stayed in was simply stunning. It was spacious, tastefully decorated, and immaculately clean. The comfortable bed and high-quality linens ensured a good night's sleep, and the attention to detail in the room's design was evident. The amenities provided, such as the mini-fridge, coffee maker, and complimentary toiletries, added to the overall convenience and comfort of my stay. One aspect that truly stood out was the hotel's dining options. The breakfast buffet was a delight, but I HIGHLY suggest to ask for the japonese breakfast . The culinary experience at the Mandarin Oriental was truly exceptional. Highly recommended

Management greed spoilt a potentially amazing stay
As you would expect with a 5-star hotel, everything is very luxurious, and the stay was mainly OK. However, a few things let down the visit, which came down to the hotel's management's greed. 1) The suite rooms cost $1500+ a night, yet they still charge you $7 for WiFi. They provide a slow "complimentary" service, but it's insane that a hotel that tries to build an image as the pinnacle of luxury would be so petty and ask you to pay for regular speed WiFi in 2021. Pathetic. 2) Having stayed at the Mandarin Oriental in London, I know that the service charge they add to ancillary services isn't unique to Japan. However, what is striking is that none of the service charge is shared with the staff providing the service. In London, 100% of the service charge is given to the staff in addition to their salaries. In Japan, it is added as additional revenue for the company. This purely comes down to greed because operationally, there is no reason why they can share this money with their employees. It tells me they value their Japanese employees less than their British ones. The Mandarin will provide you with a luxurious stay but will squeeze every penny from you and their staff in the process. I want to leave a 5-star review and come back, but their greedy philosophy has left a sour taste in my mouth. I doubt they will change, but if you want to avoid the same experience, I suggest looking for a different 5-star hotel - which there are plenty.

Management
Although the hotel is amazing in cleanliness and service is incredible (see all the reviews about this hotel), my only complaint is the way the manger of the hotel handled me and my husbands food poisoning that happened just after we finished having a 6 course tasting in the signature restaurant of the hotel. The manager ensured us that he is going to “ investigate” this issue. However what is there to investigate? We both were sick after having the same meal in your restaurant. We didn’t ask for any financial compensation for ourselves, but asked him to give to a charity for hungry kids $2000 in name of his hotel. He refused. We felt that at least our suffering gives something positive to a hungry child. I’m very disappointed with the handling of the hotel management. That’s why this review is for the hotel and not for the restaurant (I wrote a review for the restaurant as well).

Beautiful hotel in a fabulous location. The hotel is on floors 30-38 of an office/retail building. The subway is accessible from the building lobby. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is outstanding.

Best hotel I've stayed in (and have stayed in comparable) by orders of magnitude. The level of service and attention from every member of the staff from housekeeping to the restaurant was incredible. There were even a few things that we had to shake our heads at "how did they do that/how did they know"....
