Very disappointing stay, but didn’t ruin our trip, as we knew it was just a quick one night stopover. I think I’d be extremelt uposet if I was due to stay here for more than one night.
Upon arrival. There is nobody sitting at a check-in desk, just an office door that is open but no bell to ring or number to call. Which then leaves you standing awkwardly for a while, then searching around for somebody, not great. Room was not worth the money paid (£130) – bed was smaller than a double, stains on sheet and towels, paid for a ‘mountain view’ but upon waking in the morning, we had a view of the busy road and roundabout. Bathroom really needed some work, dirty tiles, very narrow bath, seal had gone on shower glass so leaked everywhere. there was staff shortage so there was only one waiter and therefore we couldn’t be seated until our given time, fair enough no harm done. We sat and had a drink, but my partner had to remind the waiter around 19:35 that we were to be seated. Once seated, the waiter did the best he could but we waited absolutely ages (over an hour) for any food to be brought out, by this point we were ravenous and tired so just ate it as fast as we could and went to bed. The food was WAY over-priced for what it was - £35 for x3 small lamb cutlets, one carrot and a bit of mash! I’d say if it is just an overnight stopover, you’ll be okay, but don’t bother if you’re thinking it’ll be a nice stay. website makes it seem really idyllic but more like a roadside motel
