Immaculately clean property, spacious rooms with great amenities. The breakfast options were perfect, with welcoming hospitality. Morro Bay is a truly beautiful place and La Serena Inn was an unexpected pleasant surprise that topped off our stay. Highly recommended!

easy to the beach, and good room conditions, but the service lady at the breakfast place was rude, we asked her how to use the waffle machine, but she said we were stupid, it was terrible for the vacation.

This is a good quality hotel with nice rooms, nice amenities, good upkeep, personable staff, better than average breakfast, excellent location. I have stayed here before and hope to do so again.

We have always enjoyed coming to La Serena when we visit Morro Bay. I do want to give a shout out the the awesome woman who makes the wonderful muffins for the complimentary breakfast! Love her! Everyone is friendly and the room is very nice.

Definitely not what it use to be. Carpet in our room had 2 large stains. Carpet was run down but it if had been clean it would have been more acceptable. Other than that it was ok.

La Serena is one of my favorite places to stay. The hotel has been completely refurbished. The staff is usually very friendly and helpful. This particular stay there were a couple of times I felt like I was bothering them. It must of been an off day.

Bad policies, poor service
They assigned me a room with a non/functional heating/ AC system. The receptionist suggested plugging it back in, since previous guests had probably unplugged it. No result. When I went back again, the receptionist found an open repair order for the unit in my room. So, the hotel had assigned me that room with prior knowledge that the unit was out of order. I find that inexcusable!

Wonderful
Room was very comfortable, view was really nice. Everything was very well kept and clean. The hotel has Direct TV so if you want TV you have options. Overall everything was great and they have great service. Would definitely come again.

Service was great - staff were pleasant and professional. Lobby tea and coffee service was very welcome. Breakfast was simple but as-advertised. The building, room, and property were a bit old but were clean and neat.

Paper thin walls
Location is great but hotel is very old with low water pressure, paper thin walls, and plenty of doors slamming. Parking on site and location are good. Some update if some rooms but carpet was sketchy and beds a bit sagging. Overall not a good night with lots of noise from neighbors.

We had a very nice stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly, we loved that it was dog friendly for our pup, it’s walking distance to the shops and the water, and the room was tidy and clean.

Very Nice Experience
Brian was very friendly and contacted me prior to arriving to ask if we needed anything. Check in with Brian went smoothly. He had local knowledge about restaurants. The breakfast lady ? was very nice and had the breakfast area decorated for Christmas as well as clean and well stocked. We had a wonderful experience and will go back when we are in the area.

Hotel is nice and walkable distance down to the Main Street. However, I felt like the staff was rude which made my rating drop. This was a bummer especially the breakfast server, she was not kid friendly at all not only to myself but other guest as well which I thought was horrible!
