Check in was lacking any information even when we were told “butler” would help. The front lobby had no one to greet us or bell hop. Time was limited when available to ask for help. Check in map and amenities were not explained. We found most restaurants were hard to get into. Most workers were texting on mobile devices vs providing services. Highlight was drivers between resorts who went out of their way to stop, help or provide info. Don’t recommend for the cost to make a reservation.

We enjoyed all of the restaurants. However, the room next to ours was getting renovated and they made so much noise that my toddler had a hard time napping and going to bed. We complained and nothing was done. Also, we were on the side of the hotel that was away from all restaurants which made it difficult with a toddler.

The property has many excellent features, such as luxurious accommodations, a beautiful beach, and attentive service. However, although our all-inclusive reservation included access to all 15 restaurants, we could only enjoy four as the rest were exclusively for adults!

The dedication and warmth of the Generations Riviera Maya staff truly make the experience. We dined every morning at the Chef's Market and were warmly greeted by the team and provided everything from mimosas (refills without asking!) to delicious cuisine. On days when we woke up especially early but not quite ready to dine, they happily supplied delicious lattes to sip and enjoy. Similarly, the teams at the Palms and Jade Restaurants were equally accommodating. A special shout out to our server Daniel at the Haab restaurant and Chef Sanjeev for a remarkable meal. It may be odd that our favorite meal in Mexico was Indian fare, but it truly was delicious! The resort also hosts a lovely Mexican themed night with a pinata crafted by the Kids Club staff and a talented mariachi band. A particular stand out of our four night experience was with the Eko Kids Club. Angie, Wendy, Xio, and Sharon provided fun, engaging activities including face painting, crafts, treasure hunts, and baking. When given the choice to continue enjoying the neighboring Aqua Nick water park or heading to Kids Club, our son emphatically requested Kids Club! We are so grateful to the team for making our son's vacation particularly special! It also afforded us a chance to explore to the two neighboring adults-only properties. Our room attendant Alma along with the evening staff ensured our room was refreshed each morning and at turn down. Thanks for a lovely trip!

I checked in on a Sunday with three small children and was quite shocked at how limited this resort was. The pool was cold, the beach was not swimmable due to seaweed and rocks and there were no activities at all our first day. Since there was absolutely nothing to do and no one around we went to Aqua Nick, which was great. Upon our return we had dinner at Jade and told them upon arrival about my son’s sesame allergy. I ordered according to the menu (only a few items listed sesame as an ingredient). Upon delivering the food to the table the waiter informed us that “everything” had sesame in it. I’m sure every parent reading this can imagine how well that went down with my two year old son when presented with a table full of food he wasn’t allowed to eat. The room was spacious and beautiful. However, the drain in the shower was clogged and completely flooded the bathroom, soaking everything in its path. When we went down to the pool there were leftover dirty cups littered everywhere from the night before. The kids activities started an hour and a half later than written on the schedule, with no acknowledgement. But the worst part was despite asking three (3!) times for them to order me transportation to the airport, upon check out I sat there with the three kids for 35 minutes waiting for a cab to arrive that no one had ordered. When I finally asked if that wait was normal, they casually told me no one had called anyone. Top that off with the fact that the cab charged me $95

El hotel es hermoso, la gran mayoría de los que trabajan ahí, son muy amables, pero tienen sus excepciones. Tienen muchas actividades para adultos pero si les faltan más opciones para la convivencia en familia. El área de niños también está padrísima, mi hijo la disfrutó mucho.

I would recommend this resort to adult travellers but likely wouldn’t come back with children. We booked a swim up suite. Below are some of the pros and cons: CONS: -pools are not heated which was hard with kids. Balcony pools were cold and so was the main pool -at times staff were helpful but you had to find the right person to help you which sometimes meant having to talk to 5 different people, service was hit or miss -no central lobby bar or gathering place (lobby is located quite a distance from the resort for some odd reason). -cement barriers in the water and rocky reef so couldn’t swim in the ocean -limited selection of restaurants/food because only specific ones are open on specific days -breakfast buffet never changed and had limited selection PROS: -kids enjoyed kids club which allowed us to venture over to the adults only Casitas and Royale which had a better selection of restaurants -rooms are a good size -Jade and Wine kitchen had good food -Andres was an excellent Concierge even though he wasn’t even assigned to our building. -we had Aqua Nick passes which was a great for the kids -premium selection of alcohol

Ugly beach keep looking
The beach is ugly with the sea wall “art” that moved close to shore after a storm. A lot of natural rock wall which makes it uncomfortable to want to pass it to swim in the ocean. Which is a major factor in me not recommending. The swim pool is cold and we had a swim-up room. No hot tubs. The breakfast buffet was great but the restaurant keeps the curtains CLOSED at breakfast blocking ocean view. The room lacked privacy while in both the bath and sleeping area. The walls are open at the top of the bathroom. We got off to a rough start with a travel delay and late night check-in. Unfortunately arrived to an empty lobby with no signage and no working phones. Were told we could order late night food yet our phone in our room didn’t work so we had to walk back to concierge area for them to place our food order. While at concierge found my family’s passport photo copy sitting unsecured at desk. In 3 nights, we had no hot water in our shower, maintenance came and showed us to run water for about 10 minutes or more. We were able to take a hot bath after filling the tub once with cold water, draining it then refilling (Waste of water). Excellent room service, and grounds service. Concierge never contacted me even after I downloaded WhatsApp. While some of the staff was excellent, there were a lot of new employees who seemed to need a lot of training and some who were overtly rude especially when I felt I’d been overcharged for the bottle of wine at wine restaurant.
