What a gem of a place. Right on a beautiful beach and within minutes of fantastic restaurants and shops. The property was small and intimate and made our stay extremely enjoyable. We will be staying there again!

Wir kommen wieder

Wir wurden im barefoot sehr freundlich aufgenommen. Das Zimmer hatte eine tolle Größe und der Blick vom Balkon war toll. Aus der gartentür raus und man ist am traumschönen Strand. Nach Cabarete am Strand geht man ca. 30-40 Minuten. Das Personal ist sehr bemüht. Barmann junior gibt viele Informationen und spricht perfekt deutsch. Koch und Hausmeister Andrés macht leckeres Essen. Das Hotel liegt etwas abseits von Cabarete, was für uns sehr angenehm war, da es schön ruhig war. Die Betten sind sehr bequem. Ansonsten sind die Zimmer eher einfach ausgestattet, aber ausreichend für Leute, die keine großen Ansprüche haben. Auto konnte in der Anlage geparkt werden, die nachts bewacht wurde. Alles sehr sicher. Wir würden das barefoot auf jeden Fall weiter empfehlen. Danke für einen schönen Aufenthalt und Grüße an Hund yogi

The most relaxing break, ever!

The Barefoot Beach Pad is run by an amazing team who should train hoteliers in how to look after guests! We were made to feel at home from the moment we arrived and appreciated the insider's tips for what to see, do and how. The hotel is in a beautiful location, 30 minutes slow walk along the deserted beach (or 5 minutes in a cab or shared minibus) from all Cabarete has to offer. We enjoyed the restaurants and bars in Cabarete but eating great food cooked fresh in the hotel kitchen, whilst sat at the bar looking out to sea with a cold drink can't be beaten! Thanks to the whole Barefoot Beach Pad team, especially Ben, Ev, Junior and Mary for your hospitality!

We loved the owners and their interest in making our stay enjoyable. We felt like family by the time that we left. Ben is a great cook and we were sad when we had to leave. They even drove us to our next destination.

Barefoot is close to town, but just far enough away that you feel like it’s you and the ocean. You can chill on your balcony and watch the ocean for a peaceful evening, or walk downstairs to the bar and lounge area, where the food and conversation with Mary, the bartender, will make you want to stay longer! The owners are amazing, always around and make you feel like you are family.

If you're looking for laid back, away from town relaxation then this is the place for you. Beach axis steps away with a great pool and bar. Food was surprisingly excellent owner operated and priced right. It's not a 5 star resort but isn't supposed to be. Close to town but far enough away to be peaceful and quiet. Two thumbs up.

Beautiful property directly on almost private beach. Fairly close to town. Nice large rooms all facing the ocean. Good breakfast. Owner very nice and knowledgeable of the area. Would definitely stay there again.

Names says this property. If you are looking for luxury stay, this is not the spot. This is neighborhood atmosphere with the closest nature and ventures. all staff are very friendly and helpful and the owner is informative and treat you like brother and helps you like his family. do i want to go back there again. Yes I wish I could go back there yesterday.

Ben, the owner, and the entire staff were friendly, attentive and helpful with suggestions on what to do in Cabarete during our stay. Barefoot Beach Pad is a beautiful little hotel with a great vibe. The food was delicious, and our short stay there was so relaxing. We will definitely be coming back!

Great place to stay! Beach front property in a relaxed no stress setting with all you need. A beach bar, great friendly and helpful hosts, ac, hot wated a beachfront bar, nearby center of town anc close by alternatives for food and beach fun.

Excellent hotel with a beautiful sea view and great service! The hotel owner welcomed us with open arms and made the best of our stay. Because we were a little bit unlucky with the wind he arranged car rentals, kitesurfing trips and fun activities to do during our stay.

Great price. Great food. Fun location. Open hours on pool extended allowed music within reason. Security excellent felt safe in resort. Andres great cook and helper gave us a coconut from a tree we poured delicious dominican rum in and did extras to make us feel comfortable. Bartender junior went the extra mile. Management did great job as travel advisor, feedback, caretakers, bartender, and custom chef, helped find affordable ways to pay and visit nice attractions. Wifi reached beach and fridge in each room. Excellent value! Doninican landscape is beautiful. Pool chairs allowed on beach. Cautions: Traffic is chaotic and unsafe to an extent. Traffic lights seem to be optional. Up to 5 passengers or heavy equipment on 1 scooter. Scooters zigzag without looking, even while drinking. Alot of tricks vendors and restaurateurs use to charge extra but food is good off site too. Incessant hovering for money. Expect stomach issues and diarrhea from food drinks ice. a.c. didnt function in 1st room. 2nd room w hot water in sink but not shower. No gas for stove, no microwave. Housekeeper comes every 2 or 3 days. Did nice job but sheets might need changes more often given windy and sandy conditions. Ocean is turbulent and unpredictable with no visibility. Small children or elderly unable to swim safely. Adults often struggled. Management made occasional inappropriate comments. Coffee and water provided. Inexperienced bartender. Police will pull u over expecting small money.

Amazing host and staff. Amazing location on the beach just far enough from town to enjoy the party and the peace! beach is gorgeous and the propety is beach front, every room has breath taking views and ocean breezes! Bar and Restaurant on property has great food!

Barefoot looks directly onto the beach. You can hear the waves from your room. Location is great and close to everything you need. The hidden gem here is the food. Chef Ben whips up everything from Poke Bowls to Americana-style burgers. It's all delicious and one of the best places to eat in Cabarete! Great trip and a great stay.

Loved every minute I was there.

The owners were hands on. I felt like I was staying at someone spacious home. I was greeted warmly and I had an uncomfortable situation. The owners were so understanding and were happy to help in any way they could. Even day with my mom who is suffering from dementia and calmed her down to the point she went to bed.

Peace and Tranquility

Barefoot Beach Pad is a true gem. What a view of the splashing water and calming waves. Service is second to none from the wonderful owners, who go out of their way to get you anything to make your stay better. English is spoken and not frowned upon. The breakfast is delicious.

My friend and I had a wonderful experience at Barefoot Beach Pad. The staff are incredibly kind and willing to make the stay in Cabarete as good as possible. Very good prices for what you get; a pool, balcony and right on a unpopulated beach! Would highly recommend staying there. Great food too!

Mycket bra boende i utkanten av Cabarete! Inget att klaga på utan allt var perfekt! Ben och Evelyn är de snällaste, mest hjälpsamma och fina hotellägare vi någonsin träffat. De pratar flytande engelska och hjälpte till med allt! Läget är perfekt med ett lugn utanför staden och stranden precis utanför hotellet. För att inte prata om maten som lagas i ett familjärt kök på tomten som smakar världsklass! Vi saknar er redan och rekommenderar alla att bo på detta underbara ställe!

Already booking my next trip!

I'm writing this from my hotel room balcony overlooking the pool and the blue ocean as a good breeze blows by, and I can't believe this gem of a place. When you check room prices, you're not expecting half of what greets you at the door of the Barefoot Bead Pad. The rooms are spacious and clean, with beautiful high ceilings, comfortable new beds, solid water pressure, and AC. I felt like family when I rang the doorbell at Barefoot and owners Ben & Evelyn, and BBP team member Andres greeted me. There was no formal front desk check-in, just an offer for a beer on the house and a quick tour of the room. The hotel grounds are secure enough to leave your door open as you wander down to the bar/restaurant for home-cooked Israeli or Dominican food (you can even get chicken tenders or a burger, if you're looking for them!). Ben and Andres make everything to order, so you can sit by the pool and watch windsurfers fly by while they fry hand-breaded chicken tenders or falafel. Last night, I hung out by the bar with Ben and his wife/co-owner Evelyn, swapping stories about their days when they were two journalists traveling the world. If you love dogs, the hotel has 2 resident furry friends who love to hang with guests. Evelyn & Ben have a great relationship w/ local restaurants and tours, so book through them for discounted rates! The wi-fi is strong enough to give your friends & fam serious FOMO from the hotel, and my family is already booking a trip back next month. Can't wait!

Awesome hosts and amazing 5 star ⭐️ hospitality

The host and her family were simply amazing I stayed from March 27 to the 29th and I had a blast....the last time I came here I only met Hector this time I met his sister and husband and I felt like family...first...the hotel is SPOTLESS......the pool is amazing I swam in it the last day I wish I jumped in it earlier when I first arrived. They have a dog and cat which are both very friendly and keep to themselves. The sisters husband was the life of the hotel an amazing addition because he can cook ANYTHING ...he made General Tso chicken in the middle of an all day storm in minutes!!...I have never seen that before...the barefoot wings was much better then any chicken wings I tasted in Cabarete hands down..just ask him..point at the menu and watch the magic...I will definitely stay there again because honestly I’m a New Yorker so we are picky people and let me tell you honestly...it wouldn’t make sense to stay anywhere else...this place is too sweet to pass up plus it is perfect for big family and couples whether double couples or triple plenty of space here and a private beach with NO hasslers trying to to sell you stuff...they also have a new tiki bar and in a couple months their restaurant should be up...JUST BOOK IT!!!

Great hotel with friendly staff

Off the beaten path, quiet and low key spot. Enjoyed swimming in the surf and the tasty food.

Amazing stay at Barefoot Beach Pad

We stayed at Barefoot for a week and we are missing it already. The hotel is small but has a lot of heart and a lot to offer the guests. The room was amazing with a large balcony overlooking the ocean. We came for my husband to kite board and found the beach to be very private and away from the fray of kite beach making it an ideal hotel for kiting. It is also a great place to relax on the beach without tons of people. The owners Ben and Evelyn made our stay enjoyable and the food at the hotel bar was always great ( the poke bowl was my favourite!!) They did a great job at personalizing our experience. We cannot wait to return! Chris & Lianna

Just a lovely place

This hotel is just lovely, it is just outside of town right on the beach, and also a lovely swimming pool. the food at the restaurant on the property was some of the best food I had while in Dominican Republic, The owners are just wonderful people . If I could give this a higher rating I would. Thanks for everything had a wonderful time.

Everything was wonderful

Wonderful beach. Clean. Beautiful pool. Prefect temperature. The atmosphere was great with wonderful management. The food was good. We will for sure be going back and recommending!

A small gem

Wonderful find. Owners Ben and Evelyn create a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Ben is a chef and prepares wonderful dinners for the guests. Lovely small hotel about a 30 minute walk on the beach into Cabarete.

Ask for the shrimp pasta...

We picked Barefoot based off the other reviews that had been posted and it turned out to be a fantastic lucky guess. I got an email about a week prior to our trip so I could arrange transportation from the airport which was very helpful. Once there, everyone was incredibly nice and we were able to get recommendations for places to go check out, restaurants, car rentals, directions...just about anything you could think of. Food was also excellent. They are in the process of making some upgrades to the bar/outdoor eating area and as soon as that is finished, I would happily spend almost all of my time there and would not feel the need to go into town unless I wanted to. Beach/ocean is about five feet away out the gate. Go stay with Hector and Ben, you won't disappointed.

There's always a treasure at the end of a rainbow

Although we booked the room at Barefoot only 1 week before our vacation, we were surprised with a beautiful large room with a balcony (ocean view). Also, the arrival was easy thanks to the organization of a taxi through the hotel. Arrived at the hotel, we were warmly welcomed by our hosts and got a small city tour so that we knew our way around town. The hotel is run by an incredibly nice family who are very concerned about the well-being of their guests and their staff are also non-stop caring for the guests. They had an answer to every question and helped us with the leisure activities. Unforgettable is the tour specially organized for us to the 27 waterfalls! The food in the hotel was very good and unique! Whether pancakes, fruits, pasta, burgers, fish, panini or chicken: everything is cooked fresh in front of the guests, plus local rum (with coke) at the bar. The hotel is perfect for families, but also for anyone else who just wants to escape the stress of the city. The location outside Cabarete (5 min taxi / 30 min walk) you can decide for yourself, when and how you want to enjoy the bustle of the town. After only a few days we felt at home and after almost 3 weeks we started our return journey. Thank you for an unforgettable time, your uncomplicated way and the many nice conversations. We will be back soon!

Excellent hotel right on the beach

When we arrived, the owner, Hector, met us, explained everything, and drove us to the grocery store. The location is beautiful--just a 30 minute walk up the beach to town. Andreas, who does everything, and his wife, Andrea, who cleans, were also wonderful.

Well located, near everything (clubs, etc)

I stayed for 5 days at the barefoot beach pad. Pros. - The hotel is walking distance to the best bars, restaurants, etc of main cabarete. - It's in front of a very 'private' beach. - Andres is always around for whatever you need (which is the head of the staff). Cons. - The a/c is really noisy (it wasn't working the 1st night). - The hot water is not enough and sometimes was missing. - The tv (cable, etc) is really bad quality. - I didn't have the option of late checkout. Over all, it was ok.

Thank you for the feedback. Had we known about the issues you had with the ac, hot water and cable we would have been more than happy to resolve them for you. And there is an option available for late check out but, again, we need to be aware of it.
