The staff did the best they could, but there's only so much they could do. The hotel was severely understaffed. There was only one person at the front desk, and at check in, there were 4 or 5 guests, so it took over an hour to check in. The carpet was disgusting. It looked so stained, like it hasn't been cleaned in years, and put in in the nineties. TV was tiny, remote didn't work half the time. Shower curtain didn't have the inside liner, paint was peeling everywhere. Smoke detector didn't have a battery in it. The door wouldn't shut tight, and as the room faced a major highway, it was extremely noisy. For $180/night, an hour from the beach, I would expect a little better.
