Conveniently located in town. Budget friendly. Kind staff. Comfortable beds. Broken furniture. Unsafe breakfast conditions- cold food was not in any type of cooling container and milk was very warm by the time we went to breakfast halfway through eating hours. The little cream cheese cups also were out for hours. Waffle batter ran out each day before eating hours were over. We ended up buying our own milk and orange juice from Walmart (a few doors down) and taking it to breakfast with us just to eat the cereal and hoped for the possibility of waffles or biscuits and gravy if there was any left. We were there before and after the solar eclipse and the days leading up to and after were like this. The only day that food was fresh and well stocked was the morning of the eclipse. It’s certainly a dated building but one that is ok for a “place to sleep” but don’t expect much more. The non-smoking rooms (low-average condition) are in much better condition than the smoking rooms (poor condition).

There were people sitting outside their rooms in lawn chairs and we spoke with them. Very friendly neighbors. There was glass broken in the bathroom and tissue was stuffed in the hole. Not very inviting. Tub was not very clean and needed some updating. Could have been a little cleaner. But office people were very friendly.

Non-smoking rooms still smell of old smoke. You can tell this is a pretty old motel. The staff was very nice, and the breakfast was good, but there was a lot of noise even when it was late. It was fine for what it was, clean and no bugs. If you need a place to crash for cheap it will do.

The first room I got reeked of smoke, and since I have asthma I went to ask for another. Then they put me in room 161 and it smelled a little better. The floor was not vacuumed and the heat never came on even though it was set to the maximum heat setting. I slept in my sweats. Around 4 a.m. a group of humters came out of their rooms, starting a big diesel truck and letting it run. They were being loud and obnoxious like they were the only people staying there. I eventually got back to sleep and got up at 8 a.m. to take a shower, but all that was there was one bar of soap and no shampoo, so I shampooed with bar soap. All told, one of the most miserable nights I can recall, and I've been in the Navy 19 years and served in Iraq, so no mean feat. I think to charge full price for a room, one should have heat and shampoo.

Room was clean but outdated breakfast left A lot to be desired with old waffle mix and no fruit at all. Tv has all channels with the exception of Fox local news. Just thought that was strange. Better location and comfortable bed are the only pluses.

The beds were comfortable, but that's the only positive I had for the place. Most everything didn't work or didn't work well. Internet extremely slow. Cable TV didn't work. Door was dirty, difficult, and unreliable. Shady individuals (and stray cats) hanging around the parking lot. Fridge and microwave were in poor conditions. Electrical plugs and wires looked like they were from the 1960s. There was a big slug crawling up the wall when we arrived, for real! Staff at main desk didn't know check-in procedures well. Breakfast (weekend) was minimal and basic, though not bad tasting, not crowded, and fairly well stocked.

The property was dated but clean. The shower curtain wouldn’t stay closed because of the way the curtain rod was hung. Their breakfast was not much to speak of, there was no milk out for cereal, the biscuits were stale and cold.

Old hotel, just worn down, needs TLC. Lumpy bed and lousy pillows. Quiet. Wi-Fi wouldn’t work, claimed it had been checked out and everything was okay. Bare bones place.

3 Day Visit
This is a bit outdated, but they do a great job of keeping it clean. The people working here are all very nice and helpful. You can tell they care about the Inn and it's customers. It is very quiet and peaceful here. I never once felt unsafe which is very important to an elderly woman staying alone. I will be staying here again. I also recommend Fortune Inn to anyone that is looking for a quiet place to rest.

I confirmed my reservation on April 8. When I arrived on June 2 there was not a room available that was on my reservation. I had to pay $42 extra to get a King-bed room. Someone had used the toilet before we entered the room. The water in the tub ran brown! There was mold around the tub and a large beetle was dead on the floor. I will not stay there again.

They advertised Wi-Fi but when I pulled up my laptop to get work done it shows to be connected but no Wi-Fi I called the front desk and she said the only thing she knew to do was reset the router and that did not make a difference from now I'll be a day behind on my work

Disappointed
Front desk staff were friendly, responsive and helpful. However, we asked for a non smoking room. The staff assigned us a room with the non smoking sticker affixed outside the door. When we entered, I was still wearing my mask but could smell a faint odor of smoke. Once I removed my mask, the smoke odor was quite overwhelming and I began getting a headache. So, I called the front desk who apologized and asked that we return to the front desk for a room change. He continued to apologize but said the cleaning staff may have been smoking outside the door and smoke drifted inside (I doubt that was it). The room we were reassigned was one that supposedly had not had anyone in it for a while. It did not smell like smoke but looked like a throwback from the 60’s. The door needed rubber trim to close the gap, the commode was super low, the drawers on the cabinet would not close and was chipped badly, the chairs were very worn and when you sat on the foot of the bed, a metal creaking sound was heard. The wallpaper looked like moisture was behind it in several places, bubbles. This room should have been a $50 room, at the most. Upgrading is definitely needed! We have stayed here many times, but this is the worst experience we have ever encountered.

Rooms are spacious, breakfast is good, check in area is nice. The only negative is that the person on duty to check me in couldn't find my reservation on the computer, though she knew i made one from a print out her mgr did earlier, took a while to get registrred.
