The staff was very helpful and friendly, the room was very clean, comfortable beds. Could not have asked for closer to Times Square. Very tight security. Perfect location for a stay in NYC

How do you rate noise in the hot water old room radiator? It was like Chinese torture. Everything else was great but this sporadic sharp clanging was grueling. I even recorded it. I wonder if all rooms were noisy like this we were in 618. Three nights of little sleep. I am a light sleeper. It sounded like a sledge hammer. Just when I thought it stopped it started again. At first I thought it was construction outside. Again, everything else was great! The hotel is 100 years old and this is what you get.

Although the bathroom was tiny, the rooms were decent size. I read a lot of reviews before booking this hotel and overall they were good. The hotel is close to everything we were wanting to see. Broadway shows were a block away, Times Square was a very quick walk, and subways were easy to find and travel. Staff was friendly and helpful. This hotel was a good fit for our needs.

It’s expensive $333.98 per night for the size room of a walk in closet. Plus there was construction being done on the 10th floor, we were on the 12th and it was all day from 7am-4:pm. Teeth rattling construction! Not sure I’d stay there again. April 18-19, 2024.

I have stayed at Hotel Edison each time I have been to NYC, commencing in 1979. The new bathroom fixtures are very nice, although it could use a couple more hooks for hanging damp towels. My room, however, was shabby. Neither of the reading lamps over the bed work. The baseboard and desk are badly "dinged" and need repainting/staining. The carpet is old and needs to be replaced. The remodeling of the lobby and restaurants is nice. More attention to the condition of individual rooms needs to be paid. The next time I come to the theatre district, I'm going to shop around to see what else is available for a single traveler. I have loved the Edison, but shabby rooms are depressing. The only reason "staff and service" did not receive five stars was that I inadvertently locked myself out of my room one evening and a gentleman behind the desk, a man without humor, treated me like I was an idiot. All the ladies were very nice at check-in and check-out, as were the cleaning folk and the servers in the restaurants and bar. The location smack in the middle of the theatre district is great.

This is a good place for a no frills convenient short stay to explore the city. If you’re looking for comfort, the high noise levels (windows not double glazed) from early street cleaners /deliveries and late night clubs and bars, coupled with a thin trickle of hot water from the shower each day and basic rooms won’t be for you.

I liked that a security guard has to check your card, convenient dini g for breakfast from your room, and those bell guys are so eager to help and set up taxis to make sure you get to the airport!!! From easy checking in to dropping keys into a box, houve thought of everything for the hotel guest. Im very impressed!!! Next time im in NY, im definitely stayimg here. Art deco style was beautiful. All staff was very friendly & helpful. Shout out to Christina. Location was great for all of our planned activities. We took advantage of Grab & Go breakfast offerings at the Edison & Carve. We stayed in remodeled Room 520. King bed was very comfortable. We did not mind that room did not have a view since we were protected from street noise. Room darkening window coverings were very effective. Bathroom was small (1 person only) but well designed to store cosmetic items for 2 women. My only complaint is that the lighting in the bedroom was minimal: small lamps with dim bulbs on each bedside table & at the desk. I stayed at Hotel Edison 20 years ago. I was pleasantly surprised by the current updates & would recommend this hotel.

I have been staying at the Hotel Edison for over 30 years. It is conveniently located within walking distance to Time Square and many Broadway shows and restaurants. We love Bobby who greets us at the door every day. I feel very safe as there is a watchman at the elevator. You can't ride the elevator without swiping your room card inside before pressing the buttons. There are two restaurants in Hotel Edison, Friedmans and Bond 45 both are delicious. Last night we saw a jazz band in the Rum House located across from the elevators. I highly recommend the Edison Hotel.

The included breakfast requires you to either walk to the corner to Curve or go to Bond-45. That's a bit confusing, why not stick with one restaurant? Security is good - people who did not have a reservation (i.e., showing a room key) are excluded from certain common areas and elevators.

Urine stains on toilet, peeled paint, very dusty, terrible view, but everyone we encountered was nice and welcoming!
