Une très belle propriété... pas toujours calme
Nous ne sommes restés qu'une seule nuit à la Quinta das Vinhas. La propriété est superbe, l'emplacement avec un panorama à couper le souffle et le séjour tout confort (literie, piscines, transats...) Excellent petit déjeuner. Deux bémols : le manque de personnel pour s'occuper des convives. Par exemple, le dîner au restaurant était sans fin. Autre bémol, nous aurions apprécié d'être au calme pendant la matinée pour récupérer de notre randonnée de la veillle et profiter de la tranquillité du site. Hélas, l'entreprise d'entretien des espaces verts était aussi de passage cette matinée, avec tondeuse, débrousailleuse et autres machines bruyantes... nous avons fuit le bruit!

A quaint historical farmhouse type property situated in a vineyard, with great views of the sea. Recommended friendly restaurant and breakfast, offering top quality local produce. Car is essential for exploration of area, especially the amazing levada and mountain walks. Easily accessible on the main road, (except a slightly tricky steep entrance, that is not too obvious) A unique and relaxing stay in village setting away from the tourist bustle of Madeira.

Le repos entre vignoble et océan
La quinta das Vinhas est une demeure agricole du 17ème siècle propriété viticole sur les hauteurs de Calheta La vue est splendide sur les vignes et l’océan en contre bas Deux jolies piscines pour le repos et un bon restaurant pour dîner sur place Les chambres sont spacieuses et confortables Le petit déjeuner pourrait être amélioré

Wunderschöne, romantische Lage mit Meersicht !!!
Die Quinta liegt wunderschön in den Rebbergen mit einmaliger Sicht auf das Meer. Romantisches Morgenessen und Abendessen im Garten , oder auf der eigenen Terasse beim sehr grosszügigen Steincottage. Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen !!

Lieber Gast Vielen Dank für Ihren Kommentar. Jetzt haben wir ein neues Esszimmer. Es befindet sich ganz oben auf dem Bauernhof und bietet einen fantastischen Blick auf die Weinberge. Vielleicht können Sie bei einem nächsten Besuch den atemberaubenden Blick auf die Weinberge und das Meer genießen. Viele Grüße vom gesamten Team.

Beautifully restored farmhouse set amid vines Rooms are quite bare but immaculate. Bathrooms are spotless with fabulous showers Meals are available around a large communal table There is a small pool for those sunny days in the hills

Inoubliable !
Très bon point de départ pour faire des randonnées dans le centre de l'île, cette propriété est magnifique! Nous avons été surclassé grâce à notre bébé dans les cottages dans les vignes! Piscine, petit déjeuner en chambre!

Hotel war unser Ausgangspunkt für viele Wandertouren und Rundfahrten über die Insel. Dafür war die Woche eigentlich zu kurz.

Beautiful old house with interesting antiques. Room was comfortable and bathroom well appointed. Would perhaps have liked the fire on in sitting room for a cosier atmosphere as weather was a bit cool. Food was homely but well cooked. Good breakfast.

Friendly small hotel
For genuine reasons, we were placed in a cottage instead of the main hotel, which was fine in the circumstances. Luckily we had stayed in one of them before in a warmer and sunnier time of year, so we knew what to expect in terms of the uphill walk to the main hotel! We arrived after dinner was served but the staff kept food for us to heat up in the cottage and it was very comforting and tasty after a delayed flight. We like the Quinta for it's old style charm.

Gezellige huisjes in een prachtige setting
Gezellige hutjes prachtig gelegen tussen de wijngaarden met uitzicht over de Atlantische Oceaan. Ook ideale ligging op het eiland ivm zonuren en uitstapjes. Heerlijke huisgemaakte maaltijden verkrijgbaar (om mee te nemen of te nuttigen in het oude hoofdgebouw). Persoonlijke service.

Quinta das Vinhas: a terrific experience
We arrived at the end of June 2014. When we came in, we were received as guests of honours. The dinners as they were served were delicious, great! The cook, Fatima, and Carla plus the other hostesses,prepared and served us a perfect dinners. Next time in Madeira we would consider to book this hotel again, so pleased we were! Un havre de paix!
Si vous restez plus que 3 jours, préférez les cottages où vous disposerez d'un petit salon avec cheminée et une kitchenette. On se sent réellement bien dans cette ambiance maison familiale de campagne! Personnel charmant et discret, toujours à l'écoute, décor cocooning - rural, hygiène impeccable, petit dej et repas copieux et bons, piscine! seul bémol: un peu loin de la ville pour sortir le soir, sinon tout est parfait pour un séjour reposant!

Ruhiger und erholsamer Ort
Wir waren in einem Cottage untergebracht, welches für 2 Personen viel Platz bietet. Vor dem Häuschen ein kleiner Gartenplatz zum Sitzen. Das Hotel ist ruhig gelegen, zum Haupthaus muss ein steiler Aufstieg überwunden werden. Das Wetter war bei uns leider eher schlecht und wir mussten mit einem kleinen Elektroofen heizen, der nur mässig Wärme spendete. Alles in Allem aber ein angenehmer Ort für ruhige Ferien.

Peaceful retreat
We just returned from a wonderfully relaxing week at Quinta das Vinhas. The location is lovely - very peaceful, but not too far from the main routes round the island. Very impressed with the hard-working and helpful staff. The rooms aren't swanky, but have all you'd need - although another source of light would have been great, there were just two dim bedside lamps. Breakfast buffet was impressive, and my carnivorous husband loved the one night we ate dinner at the Quinta. My vegetarian option was a...plate of boiled vegetables, so we didn't have dinner there as often as we'd thought we would! All in all, I'd really recommend this as a delightful alternative to the big tourist hotels.

A charming retreat
The emailed directions were perfect and we arrived with no trouble to this delightful vineyard set on the hill near Calhetta and were immediately welcomed by attentive reception staff. Tea was brought to us on the lawn, overlooking the sea, while paperwork was dealt with and it was the most relaxed registration we've ever had. We adored our stay - couldn't have been better. Both receptionists were exceptional in courtesy, efficiency and local knowledge. We loved the levada walks we walked and the pool, set in the gorgeous gardens, was a pleasure to jump into on our return. It was a privilege to be among such amazing antiques in this 17th Century Quinta and fun sitting with other guests round the enormous dining table at the delicious breakfast. We had supper on the first evening as we were too tired to explore and although it wasn't fabulous it was wholesome enough, the view was great, and it was ideally convenient. The view from our bedroom was stunning, down to the sea, through cerise flower laden tree branches. We will definitely return to this Quinta. Thank you for a wonderful 2 days.
