Enjoyable stay at Vila Gale Opera Hotel
Vila Gale Opera Hotel if you have any Summit at Lisbon Congress Centre, convenient 4 min walk, close to downtown or take tram to downtown, excellent for day/evening walk/run along Tagus River. Delicious buffet breakfast/dinner, I highly recommend this hotel! I will stay there if I am ever back to Lisbon!

The staff were friendly, our room was not ready when we arrived two hours after check in time but was resolved in about 30 minutes. Paid underground parking is confusing as to how to pay when leaving. The beds were extremely hard and limited pillows. It was fine for one night as we wanted to be in the area and it was affordable but wouldn’t stay multiple nights.

Wonderful stay at Lisbon
This is a really very good stay at Lisbon. The location is very convenient to visit Belem district with nearby tram connections. Several food options in the walking distance of the hotel. The hotel was very clean, the employees were very courteous. The breakfast buffet has a lot of options. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience!

I have no idea how this is 4 stars. We had to ask for the sheets to be changed as other peoples hair were still in the bed. Staff appear unable to organise taxi's so be ready with uber app. It is like a 1970's throw back in decor and not in a good way. No iron, no tea or coffee facilities. Very expensive and would avoid

Bathroom floors are very slippery and shower will leak onto floor. I slipped on the floor but I'm pretty young, didn't bother me much, although I definitely wouldn't send my parents there. Stay was very pleasant, but I don't see where the 4-star rating comes from.

Could be the Perfect Spot - just a few hiccups
The Vila Gale Opera was ideal for my business trip as it was in walking distance to the Lisboa Congress Center and also a cool 15 mins walk to the shopping area. The food was yummy - having an open buffet had lots of options. The staff was friendly and accommodating. There are a few negatives that caused me to not have an excellent experience: - the hotel has no irons in the rooms - apparently there was an electrical fire a few years ago and so the hotel changed their policy and chose not to have irons in any of the rooms. You have to use laundry service to iron your clothes and it's not free. Additionally, there is a 48 hour advanced notice to be given to Laundry service otherwise you have to pay an additional 50% of the total cost of the fee to have express service. I was very bothered by that as my meeting started the next day and so I had to pay the extra for express service to have all my clothes ironed. This is something that guests should be aware up front - I packed for 4 days in a carry on. I definitely needed to have the wrinkles removed before attending my meetings. - the hotel was fully booked and ran out of adapters - I had to make the 15 min trek to find a store selling them. It was an inconvenience as I was bone tired and needed to do last min prep for my first meeting. - the air conditioner dripped water constantly such that I had to use one of the bath towels to keep the floor dry.

The hotel is next to the convention centre so it was very convenient. The shore, the suspension bridge and the famous Belem area are all within walking distance. It is situated also fairly close to the airport which is helpful. The hotel itself is functional and it does serve its purpose as a conference or business hotel. I find it odd that the water flow from the tap seems to go on and off sometimes which I suspect it is a water pipe pressure system issue. It does not bother me so much but you got to give it a few seconds for the water to come on again. I would also appreciate if they could replenish our complimentary water bottle daily especially it is the hot summer with temperate going up to 33 degree celcius outside.

Poucas espreguiçadeiras. Local fechado sem ventilação e extremamente quente. As portas de vidro deveriam ser móveis para que pudessem ser abertas no verão. O quarto no qual fiquei tinha cheiro de esgoto vindo do banheiro.

Het was erg smerig, slecht onderhouden, er was lekkage geweest al lang geleden waardoor het laminaat helemaal stuk was en los lag ! Het stonk wij hebben ook foto’s gemaakt. Dit is zeker geen 4 sterren hotel maar eerder 1 ster. Raad mensen niet aan om dit hotel te nemen maar wel om bij expedia te boeken de service is heel goed zijn goed geholpen

Window did not seal completely with the rubber so it was quite noisy in the room. No tea/coffee, mug or thing were I could boil water, but my colleague for example had those things in his room & even apples. (and we paid the same amount of money and we had the same type of room). :(

The Hotel is pleasant to stay in, but it lacks the basic cleanliness, vacuuming of the rooms only happen once a week and are not done in detail. The wellness is very basic, the sauna holds 6 people and the Turkish bath holds 8 people, the staff is outsourced, given there is not hotel management supervision it is very evident that the swimming pool is not cleaned properly while swimming I ran into a massive amount of hair floating in the water and cleaning of the changing rooms only happens in the morning. The massage is outsourced as well and to my opinion, it is very high in price. The rooms are ok, although they are outdated and there is no offer of channels that show up to date programs, we winded up watching movies from the '80s and the '90s every evening when in the room. Front desk staff was courteous, bar and restaurant staff should undergo better training and ensure they know English. Overall I rate this hotel as borderline acceptable, they provide you with a variety of coupons but make sure you read the fine print or get a very detailed explanation about them, they have a very unique way of interpreting how they can be used or not used. I believe this location should be the choice if you want to stay in a lower expectation level.
