It's a fair walk from the station but right beside Golden Gai and Kabukicho and a 10 minute walk from the park. And there are plenty of affordable places to eat at nearby.
The rooms are quite depressing. The hotel is very scruffy with scuff marks on the walls everywhere. They have a "no cleaning" policy during stays, but I really wondered if they clean much between visits. The bed is also of low quality. (I stayed in 13 hotels this trip and about 47 if I count earlier trips.) So many hotels have air purifiers which I never use, but here I would have liked one because it is a smoking only hotel. Yes, all rooms are smoking rooms. Unfortunately, there was no air purifier. The breakfast was also very mediocre, but then again, it cost almost nothing.
Despite these misgivings, the location makes up for a lot and I would consider staying here again.
