I spent only one night in Dallas and we thought this motel was a good option for a few hours. When we arrived at the "reception" the guy was very rude. Never seen something like this. He asked me for my ID as if I was a criminal.
I gave him my credit card to pay for the room, but it would not go though. I gave him another card to pay for the room and it didn´t work either. In the end, he said: “You have no money”, which was not true, of course, because I had been using those cards for all payments all day. In the end, after a very frustrating confrontation with this man, we decided to go to another hotel, and of course my credit card did work in that other hotel!
I called EXPEDIA to be sure that I wouldn’t be charged for the reservation, and I was told that if I had used the same card for the reservation as well as for the room; Then, he would not be able to charge me for the cancellation. Later, I could see a charge for the cancellation on the credit card that I had used to pay for the room.
Then, I called EXPEDIA again and they contacted the hotel and his explanation was that “I was there, the credit card didn’t work, but he still wants to get money for the reservation”. How come this credit card did accept payment for the cancellation fee, and not for paying the room. It seems he was unwilling to help me resolve the situation when I was there ready to pay for the room, and worked hard to make sure that he would get his cancellation fee money using my credit card
