I should have been more careful, but I was looking for an inexpensive place close to Six Flags. The whole place felt like a “pay by the hour” dump.
I waited about 10 minutes at the front desk to check in before someone showed up. I could hear the start of profanity, laced argument down the hall.
When we opened the door, the deadbolt fell off the back. The hallway carpet looked like it had never been cleaned or vacuumed. The only towel in the bathroom was a threadbare, Family Dollar beach towel. The non-smoking room reeked of cigarette. Before we even opened a bag, my daughter said, “I would rather just sleep in the car.”
So we left. It was worth throwing away the money to not sleep in that dump.
