Hardest part of Euro-vacation: arriving at 10am local time, and it's 4am your time, and you've been up all night watching movies, changing planes, and going thru customs. The host waived the 2pm checkin so l could have a shower and crash for a few hours. Bless his Brazilian-Irish heart.

Wow is all I can say...they must have raised the price because of the game but the room shoukd never be over 30 euros...the smell that came from the toliet all hours of the night...the bed wasnt comfortable and the headboard and footboard was all tore up...the window leaked all night with the wind blowing...what a disapointment....then the bar downstsirs started turning up the music after midnight ..what a joke...never again ..beware only book if nothing else is available...

Absolutely fantastic! Myself and two friends booked in for a night here and it was nothing but fantastic. Staff were amazing, rooms were spotless. Tv worked fine. We were surprised by the mugs and the supplies of teas and coffees. Room was perfect for all 3 of us. Toilet was a little noisy though after flushing but that was overlooked due to how immaculate everything else was. Locals were really friendly too. Made us feel right at home.

Roxanna was an amazing hostess and went way and beyond in her service and help. Clean, comfortable room. Close to the city centre.

Nice peopled
We enjoyed our stay at Shipwright. The folks there were very helpful and suggested good places to eat and how to take a nice walk along a nearby beach. I wish I could remember her name, but she is from Poland, speaks good English and was very nice. We appreciate her help and the suggestions by the persn who seemed to be the manager.

A local experience
The hotel is run down and not especially clean, at least not from what one can tell with the dim lighting. The toilet emits a fog horn sound when flushed and the shower leaks. All those things would have been forgivable, however, we did not enjoy 3 hours of Elvis on the jukebox at night! I liked the location, it is away from the tourist crowd, yet walkable to the sights. There is a nice neighborhood pub across the street for supper and cafe next to it for an Irish breakfast, complete with Irish workman eating their breakfast.

Arrivée accueil sympathique dans un cadre pas très avenant. Surprise malgré immeuble vétuste tout est surveillé caméras ouverture par carte codée. La chambre avec un petit lit inconfortable pourrait contenir un lit de 140. Il y a le nécessaire de café et thé. Une petite table une armoire neuve. Une petite tv. Salle de bain très propre. Douche trop petite

The bathroom lock was partially disassembled and came off when I tried to unlock the door, trapping me inside -- I was fortunate to have my phone. After a few days, sewage smells came out from the shower drain and persisted. Windows felt awkwardly low and couldn't be locked in a partly-open position, leading to security issues. Bed was comfortable, and staff was usually available to resolve issues.

the pub was good, the room comfortable, all i want in a sleeping room. the neighborhood was pretty quiet and felt safe.

Reception is an off licence. Owner is a domineering chauvanistic pig, ignorant to staff, invading privacy, too much of a dictator to them, yet blames them for issues. Tv in bedroom wasn't working, he didn't care. Room to small, very claustrophobic, unable to sleep, awakened at 2am. The worst guesthouse we have ever stayed in. A rubbish place. A terrible kip

Weekend away with family
Positives We arrived very late on the Friday night but were given a very warm welcome by Owen, he was really friendly and very helpful. The room was clean with tea/coffee making facilities and plenty of drawer space. Good bus links Negatives I think 240euros was a bit steep for just a room for 2 nights, but I guess it is now classed as high season We had no hot water for the whole of our stay, we did mention it and was told it was a gas fault but it was being dealt with. There was not a lot to do around the hotel, caught the bus into the Dublin city centre

Older facility, but very comfortable-
Only problem I had was cigarette smoke in bar attached to reception area. Older building, narrow staircases( no lift ), but all there were expected from description and other reviews. Gentleman from reception did help us with our bags. Room itself was a pleasamt surprise- a double room, extra twin bed- spacious bathroom- unusual shower door, but plenty of high pressure hot water. Smoke from bar did not shift to out room. A pleasurable stay.

I had a nice stay in the Shipwright Guesthouse, room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Had a lovely breakfast on Sunday. I would stay there again.

De vluchtwegen in het guesthouse vond ik wel een ding. Het ijzeren hekwerk dat voor het raam zat, vond ik geen fijn idee.We sliepen aan de achterkant van het gebouw. kamer 11. Onze badkamervloer trilde vaak..wij dachten de generator beneden aan het draaien was....

There was some confusion during check-in, but our overall stay was great. Location is a little far from Dublin center, so if you’re looking to be a little on the outskirts, this is the place for you!

I did not understand if it has cleaning service every day , but the fact is i have been 3 nights and just one day somebody went into the room and took the rubbish from the room but didn't took the rubbish from the bin in the bathroom , and not cleaning at all , so what is the point ??

This property was sold in its description as convenient for ferry travel. The site mentioned a shuttle at extra charge but it didn’t exist. The area is quite old but we did feel safe in the hotel. The room was clean and recently renovated. The bathroom was fine.
