We were here during spring break and it was not very busy. Checking in was easy. The room was adequate and met our needs. You are in Navajo Nation so be prepared for that. Stray dogs in parking lot begged for food but would keep their distance and were not threatening. Never had a problem while on the property. Options are pretty limited here but this stay turned out fine.

I was worried about safety around the area because of break-ins reported near Canyon de Chelly. But we had no problems at all. We had to check out in the morning and leave our valuables in the car while doing a tour of the canyon and it worked out fine. The parking area is well lit and there was even a police officer driving around. There was a stain on one of the sheets which was a bit of a turn off, but everything seemed clean. It worked out well for what we needed. There was hot water, coffee, and snacks in the lobby. The nearby restaurant was actually wonderful!

From check-in to check-out the staff was so helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and beds comfortable. I needed to cancel one night of my stay and they accommodated the change in my reservation even though it was last minute, without any extra charges.

This is an older hotel, but seems to be clean and well maintained. Check in staff was friendly and offered us cookies and popcorn. There arent many lodging options in Chinle, but this one was a good stay for the price.

I don't like the area near the hotel. I was asked for money at the gas station and you have to prepay for gas (not a good sign in my opinion).

The whole night I kept hear loud trucks running up and down the road. When I say loud it sound like I was at a monster jam. After a 8 hour drive I wanted sleep. That did not happen. It was not once I heard this vehicle going back and forth all night. I don’t know if they were racing. I do understand the freeway is near by. That was no problem. I stayed there to see how it was so I could bring my boys back. I think I’ll look for something else.

Great place to stay.
This is an older hotel but has had fairly recent upgrades. The Junction Restaurant is right next door and the food and service there is great. The hotel room was spacious and clean and the staff was amazing. Would definitely stay there again.

Homeless People, Low Water Pressure, & No Pool...
There was minimal water pressure in the shower and there was a homeless man who stood near our room for much of our fist night's stay. The pool was not available as well. We could have used the pool, it was over 100 degrees...

The BW at De Chelly is a basic BW motel. Amenities include a microwave and frig. Frig did not have a freezer which would have been very useful for refreezing the gel pack of our cooler. The bed was comfortable and the pillows of the soft type. The air conditioning was of the type built into the wall. This type of air conditioning pours out the coldest air possible until the room is cooled (as opposed to gently cooling the room). I paid $130 for room with two queen beds. In Chenle, AZ there aren't a lot of choices. Overall, I was satisfied with what I got for what I paid, but am always hoping to find a gem, but this was not it.
